Hello, I have a question... does it matter what truck my drivers have to get jobs? Or no matter what truck they have, they will always get a job? If you have a guide, please pass it on.

Any truck will work.

Do not give your hired drivers any mod trucks. This will avoid problems in the future.

I prefer to assemble trucks for my drivers that I would like to drive. I only like to have around 10 drivers. I don't think it matters what truck they have, they seem to return quite frequently without a load. I like to give them at least a 500 hp engine and either a 13 speed 3.90 rear end or an 18 speed with 3.55 rear end both with a retarder. I normally give them a 48' box trailer. I assign them (one) to a small garage that I do not plan on using that way they will more than likely use the trailer I bought for them to match their company. It takes a lot longer but I thoroughly enjoy assembling trucks and trailers.

Also dont give them used trucks at this time as they'll immediately restore them to new condition at great expense.

My advice, don't bother with hired drivers and try to function as a solo owner operator. You will thank me in the long run.

If your reason for hiring drivers is just to make that number in the top right hand corner of the Route Advisor go up as quickly as possible then the advice is 'go wide not big', in other words try to employ as many drivers as you your finances allow, in the cheapest possible trucks and just leave them to develop on their own (ie. leave their Training Policy on Balanced).

If you just want to role play a trucking empire boss then plough your own furrow. In ETS2 I tried all sorts of approaches, and at one time even gave my drivers a fancy pimped up truck for reaching level 36 (ie. all skill pips filled) so you can waste as much time not actually driving a truck as you care to.

Finally, if you would like to understand the mechanics of how a driver's truck affects their earnings then this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2782878952 has all of the underlying gory details, but all of the examples are focused on ETS2 trucks which is where we did our research.
