Also, I already own the game and have hundreds of hours on it.

not bad

Should run fine on Ultra settings, but I would turn off the antialiasing (MLAA0 as it will negativly hit your fps especially in the cities.
Okay. Currently play on low with a potato (fresh from Idaho), so Ultra would be great. Antialiasing is always off for me (I don't actually like it, even in cases where it doesn't impact performance)

I would get a ssd before a massive hdd until you need it
Been through many discussions about that, due to certain reasons beyond my control an SSD of any size would not fit the budget I have.
Also, once I build this thing, I don't wanna be doing many tweaks to it unless I have to.

The game will run fine on such PC, but I agree with Marcaus - SSD makes huge difference in terms of performance, so adding another $100 on top of current price for 500GB SSD would be worth every penny. You can save some on choosing cheaper tower case and possibly memory.

it will run fine with current Nvidia drivers, however, i can not say same thing for the performance once it is 2 years old. Next wave of drivers for your GPU and SCS coding for ATS will affect your overall performance. The FPS count when i bought this game decreased -slowly but surely- ever since i played it first time.

When you find budget for your PC in the future, one-by-one; buy an at least 250 gb of SATA3 ssd, then a new CPU with at least 8 cores, then same model of 8 gb RAM, then a new PSU not less than 600W and finally a new GPU.

I run the game on a Dell laptop with a Geforce GTX 960M GPU and a Core i7 processor on 16GB RAM. No problems.

Don't waste money on a tiny 250GB ssd. That is useless if you actually want to put games on it. 500GB is bare minimum, and even that is not good. Save up $300 and get a 1TB, then you can put some games on it. Small ssd's are only good for putting the OS on and nothing else.

And 8 core cpu will be slower for 99% of games, especially ATS which only uses a single core. A fast intel quad core will run this game far better than an 8 core cpu that has a lower ipc and lower clock speed.

margalus is right, 8 core CPU is overkill for this game and many other. Strong quad core and extra RAM will probably result in better overall performance

I'd think about going for a 6GB 1060 if you can stretch the budget slightly. Won't really make a difference for ATS, but may do for other/later games...

I'll give my 2 cents.

Not bad on the PC, but I'd consider maybe squeezing some extra RAM if possible to 16 GB. If not, 8 GB will get you by for the time being.

The current GPU you chose is on the lower spectrum of the 1060's. It'll get by for sure though. Or, you can wait and see how the Vega 56 pans out. Would push the budget a bit up, but if what I'm reading about it hold, AMD could once again be viable for once in the GPU area. (they were not so hot for a few years when they took over GPU's from ATI and drivers went to complete and utter *bleep*)

My last bit would be to consider going for at least a WD Black or Seagate equivalent. The Blue's are nice and all, but I've so far never had a WD Black crap out on me yet. Heck, I still have an old 10 year old WD Green still running. (been wanting to replace it though, it is my only 5400 RPM drive sitting in my system)

Why do people keep recommending more ram for this game? Yes, there are some newer games that benefit from 16GB of ram. But ATS is not one of them. This game only uses 2GB of ram.
