Noobs interrupting boarding attempts
Friends and I are at a loss atm.
Need tons of materials from farming and boarding ships (per guides on getting materials on this game), but every time we go after a T4 or even lower ships at this point, some random player runs up, guns blazing, trying to sink the ship instead of letting us finish stripping the crew off it so we can board it.

We can have the ship nearly cleared of crew, hull intact with just machine gun fire pecking the crew off, they run up and try to sink it.

At this point, I'd say this "pseudo pvp / grieffing" mechanic ruins this game.

It's all part of this type of game. If it were a pure PVP, a lot of people wouldn't even play it. Plus, there really isn't much on the gameplay tutorial telling noobs how to play, nor is there much on YouTube. They probably feel they are helping you. If I enter to help where a large ship is involved, I will pick off the small ships, allowing the player to focus on the ship he is boarding. But I will admit I have accidentally sunk the ship they were after. It's just a game. No big deal.

They should add some kind of Flag or tag so when you do more than %25 damage to a ship locks it to only you or your team can damage it that way there be no more Kill stealing or accidents :SubverseDEMI:

for example i was trying to help as i was passing by locator and forgot i had my rockets installes and i sink it ... i felt so bad :sad_seagull:
Last week was a free week. So there's a lot of people, me included, that have no idea what's really going on. Granted, I don't do a lot of damage...so kill stealing is out of the question for me.
Should be more than one way to get ship plans. Found boarding can be hit and miss. If attack a group alone are outnumbered 10/1 or more. Altman fleets have rapid respawn between waves so end up being swamped before can board ship if you have knocked out crew. When game first released could get new hull type from Shipwright with corks. Was also in handy location to carry out repairs when away from base. Then things went to pot when His location moved to right by 3 Whales so had no way to carry out repairs at His original location. All done to make game easier for new players having problems in early stages of game. Should have been left were He was and able to build new ship hulls for you if you had enough corks etc to buy them from Him. Game could have been great but developers seem to have stopped providing quests and gone off on a tangent with fishing and ground attack missions.:orks:
Its part of the game. What was really annoying was higher level player 1 shotting all ships I was trying to board. Message incoming players to tell them you are trying to claim boat. Some players stop and move on.

Agreed, that sucks, but any solutions?
If you lock the ship at 25% or something like that.. this will prevent the possibility of any assistance from other players, and this sucks too, because usually we just want to kill them.

I noticed playing with a friend the game has the code already to recognize which of us cleared the deck and can board it, IE I can't clear the deck and my friend board it, they have to be the one that probably ( a guess ) kills the last person on board to unlock boarding it.
That code should mark / lock the ship as yours, no one but you can damage it further. It wouldn't be a full solution but at least if you did have it clear and trying to motor up to it, random nitwit wanting their 20 exp doesn't roll up and sink it.

At the very least an ability to mark a ship as boarding target, so others know what you are doing. A different colored icon instead of the red arrow above it, they have an emoticon system, allow marking of a ship with a boarding icon

the main thing I think is noobs see red icon and blast it regardless if anyone is else is there, hoping to the get a piece of the pie.
