Swarm of NPCs spawn close to boat?
Is it normal for wave after wave of NPCs spawning close to your boat? I keep getting swarms of NPCs spawning close to my boat and have got sunk about 3 times from it, really annoying.

Well the map is sorted into different areas of difficulty. Sounds like you are out exploring areas that are more difficult then your current boat can handle. It is normal to have about 3 or so jetski to spawn and attack but they are not what I would call more than annoying even in the T1 boat. Otherwise never really noticed. Though there are areas around the map that are Fleet Spawners. If you look on your map after you have been there they are marked. Scroll into the area and you have a blue dot. Enemy spawners are a circle of Pylons connected together by a RED glow wire.
Wait till you hit end game and have the need to go fight some fleets........
Also join the Discord tons of people with tons of information there.

Thanks for the info. Its crazy as im going to mission updates, I literally see a bunch of enemies spawn directly ahead of me. Normally its a few jet skis, or jet skis and a couple of smaller boats. Sometimes there are slightly bigger jet skis that are idiotically tough, which makes no sense. But if I choose to fight the spawns, many times a new wave spawns. And the new enemies love to spawn when Im stopped and trying to repair my boat. I like the game, but this developer seems to be a bit of a troll the way NPC spawning works.
Nah you just need to learn the game. Did you get to the SHIPWRIGHT and get your new boat? Game quickly puts in in something other than what you fought that big ships with where you were before you Teleport into the world with all of us.
Also you want to run both your Base Progress/Technology tab quests together. As you level you get new boats and ability to make new stuff. Before long you one shot most of those smaller enemies.
You have to conform to the game not wait for it to conform to you. Rocket Launchers when you can craft them are good for the beginning. Stupid long range only miss the jetski.
Also remember to level your crew well because to respec them is a major undertaken. Need to buy the device in the SHOP tab in base with Medallion that are not easy to collect at the start.

Thanks for the tips. I was using the boat you get from the quest that comes with a little cabin in the center, and I had it modded up with a tier one cannon, and a tier 2 and tier 3 machine gun. And yes Im new to the game, that doesnt change anything I said on the spawning.

"Before long you one shot most of those smaller enemies."

That sounds great, but thats certainly not how it is for me now. I kill the normal jet skis fast, as well as the smaller boats. But the slightly larger jet skis take multiple cannon shots which is just goofy. Its still just a jet ski, one cannon shot should end it easily, strange it doesnt. And Im certainly not waiting on the game to conform to me, just making observations, especially when some things makes no sense. But overall I like the game so far.
Keep in mind there are 7 different tiers of weapons. Actually there is 7 but Powerful is not worth it as it stops at 3. Shark are pretty good but end game goal will be the tier 6. I was new once too still remember it. Remember the map is set up in difficulty tiers. Also just because you have the quest does not mean you are ready for that quest. When you hit one that is too hard stop that chain and work another. You get several boats by doing quests. At any time you can board any boat ( other then t1) as long as your captain has the skill for that boat. So you can hop out of that tier 1 into a t2 if you want. All you do is remove the crew from the boat you want. Start with the driver then the MGs if there are cannons or rockets have to deal with them before the driver. Once all gunners are gone the driver runs away.
Like any game out there progression is key.

Thanks again for the good info. Seven tiers of weapons? Thats awesome, gives us something to work towards. Seven tiers of boats too?
No you have 5 boat tier but many boats in each tier.

For weapons you have T1-6, 6 you will not see until you finish the quests and get the recipe for it. Powerful only go 1-3 after 3 there is no more so that is it's own thing would not invest in unless you have lots of those parts. Shark however is a good investment to make keep all those parts you collect early game. You do not use a T1 to craft a t2 like you do with the normal ones. I started using T5 Shark Cannon before I could get T6. Right now my boat has 2 Shark t5 cannons on it that do about 2.7 damage each. Then I have about 5 to 8 T6 on my boat lowest damage being 3k highest 4.5k.
To me Cannons are best all around but others like MG. Flak is short range and rockets overheat a lot. Never used Gernade for anything but fishing for food. Fire it off while traveling to randomly kill shark for food. When you have the Loot Drone or 2 it gets even easier.
I can board boats with my cannons but sometimes can be hard. Tip I learned a few weeks ago when you get the wider boats put the guns down the center to offset the waves bounceing you around when zoomed in for boarding. Really does help.
Find me on Discord or ask others in General. Many that helped me happy to pay forward.
