Status of the Linux version?
Hello, Liam from GamingOnLinux - https://www.gamingonlinux.com

Currently, the Steam page only seems to have Windows system requirements. So I wanted to ask what was happening about Linux support?

Linux was a stretch goal that was hit on the Kickstarter, so I do hope it's still happening...

It is currently working with Steam Play! With the latest Steam Proton Beta (3.16.6), it works with no major issues that I can see within the first 15 minutes. Major step up from not being able to boot it up.

Still looking forward to the native version, though!
Thank you for keeping interest in a native Linux version. I've wishlisted the title in part due to your openness towards Linux and forthright discussion with the community. Thanks!

I'm also interested in the Linux version as I'm trying to transition everything I do over. A game like this would be pretty amazing.

Just mentioning that I - as well as many other Linux-preferring users I've spoken with - are still interested.

I wanted to move this topic up for those who may be new, as they have been developing the title progressing through patches (including content patches like the Chapter 2 release) and the game is on Steam sale currently.

Those thinking about buying, they may not yet have Linux support but at least the devs are open to it and interested . For the moment, there are reports of it playing with Proton which will atl east showcase players of those comfortable enough to buy, playing on Linux!

Enjoy, and hopefully a native Linux client will come along too!

I'm still all for it too. I'm a kickstarter backer and one of the reasons I kickstarted was the Linux promise. I'm glad it works in proton, but I still would like the native version.

Hopefully the issues presented earlier in the thread (https://steamcommunity.com/app/269190/discussions/0/1727575977582091197/?ctp=1#c1727575977582323707) eventually get managed and we'll see a native version before full release.

We are still targeting a native linux version at the same time than the consoles version (port will take a long time but it's on our roadmap)

+1 for Linux. I have it wishlisted but only plan to buy once Linux is supported. The game looks like so much fun. Huge fan of FF4, FF6 and FF7. Played FF13 on the 360 and it was good as well.

Has there been any news on this ?
totally forgot about that this was even planned. Worked fine via Proton last time I played it, but would be interested as well anyway
