Hi, so id like if some1 made a mod for class overhauls, cuz lets be fair here the classes currently dont have that much variety and arent rlly too diffrent to what they do and their possibilities bar the Hacker.......Hacker can solo prop everything on his own >.> id love if each class could do alot not just single class, for example infiltrator is almost useless... invisibility almost anyone can have and if u spec into sniper... then Infiltrator class is useless because 1. Snipers dont do enough damage to what they are, they are supposed to hit hard, slow and precise 2. They have not enough range in my opinion, might aswell get an smg and rek everything with it. Soldier is totally useless because you just cant go in guns blazing cuz u will get annihilated even with the 4 of u... making guns blazing tactics unusable and making the game boring because only tactics is to sneak in and do ur objective... id love more variety in maybe classes but id love if there was simply more of everything :) A total Overhaul of the game could be very usefull for all of us. If possible please make all classes usable and make more tactics viable rather than only sneaking in and doing the objective which gets boring and extremely repetitive. All classes deserve to be used, all of them have good base to become something really good but it does need changing and more variety of talents, weapons and modfiers. In the end id love to come back to the game to play with friends again and have more tactics available to us aswell as more weapons MAYBE classes if possible and maybe even new enemies - everything + more would be good ^^ Also i know its alot to ask atm but if possible i think everyone would appreciate it, not just me and my friends :)

Guns blazing can work quite well if you use big enough guns (missile launcher, plasma cannon or laser cannon). With Ammo Pack the Soldier can reload easily enough, and knock down whole groups of enemies with every shot while they are still trying to get close enough to fire shorter range weapons. Not to mention the rain of fragmentation grenades that such a Soldier could provide.

Might be easier to somehow nerf the Hijack skill rather than try to make all the other classes as overpowered as a Hijacking Hacker. Rather than having the level increase both number of hijacked units and their levels, the level could determine the total levels of the hijacked units, so level 5 = 1 level 4 plus 1 level 1, or 5 level 1 units, or any combination in between.

Yeah, guns blazing is very possible, especially if you just use the cover a bit and such. Especially after you get healing, grenades and shields. Maybe the plasma rifles. I actually considered making a mod where you are pretty much forced to be stealthy and very easy to kill.

Mods I made so far:
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/Pause5Lives.dll
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/UnStuck.dll
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/Cheats.dll
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/ChangeLooks.dll

I am still tweaking the mods to work a bit better. The cheats one is experimental, and some of the functions do stuff they are not supposed to, like changing weapons with page down also changes the names of your whole team. The cheats mod also shows information about all the keys and what they do for all the mods when you start a game.

I have also begun a modding guide. Right now its only how to get started, I will add more about what commands you can use though, what they do and how to use them.

Yeah but Infiltrator is pretty useless when it comes to combat :D snipers are preeeeeeeeetty much useless :( and the invisibility for specialist can be pretty boring because the fact u can get it for other classes to which makes it less in class variety

I am still working on it, but so far when you press keypad 8 the selected agents will get randomized looks. I have also tried making it possible to save how all the agents look so you can get them back, but seems its not working yet. You can also change the sex of selected agents, and save current looks and apply that look to another agent, but only thing working for sure is randomizing how selected agents look, and changing the sex of agents. The game has 3 sex types though. I think it is male, female and "both". But it seems when agents are "both" they become buggy. So I will make it only switch between male and female.

I also finally figured out how to change the name of your agents, so I will implement that in that mod as well. Just trying to figure out how to make it all work with less keys.

Huh? He can instant kill almost everything. If you are to use his sniper and it being useful, you have to use the "setup rifle" skill or its just not good enough, then his shots are pretty strong if the skill is upgraded enough. Otherwise, he is great for stealth killing people with a silenced gun or using his sword to instant kill just about any human. Should be any human if fully upgraded with that skill.

The Cloak skill can be stacked with the Stealth Generator Mk II, for longer cloaking duration than any other agent, and combined with the +30% speed from maxed Master Assassin, the Infiltrator can move farther than any other agent while being cloaked. Though sadly this extra speed means that it's almost impossible to keep the Infiltrator close to the other agents while moving, so the special ability of the maxed Cloak skill to lower the energy drain for the other agents as well becomes too difficult to use effectively.

With maxed Master Assassin and the setup ability (and maybe an Optical Scope too) the Infiltrator can shoot people from so far away that you need a forward scout to even see the enemies yourself. From such extreme distances they don't even hear the shot or see the shooter, so even if they don't die instantly they still don't do anything but run around in confusion.

Using a Sound Dampening grenade can still be a good idea in case there are enemies closer by, who might actually hear the shots. With the extra arm from Wetcorp the assassin can have both sniper rifles, and equip the laser sniper rifle with an Overlocker, while the ballistic rifle gets a scope. Or put a silencer on one of them to avoid having to use Sound Dampening grenades all the time.

But I don't think this is the right thread for discussing balance issues. Maybe play the game some more and try to restrict yourself to mainly use the things you consider 'useless'? Sniping might not be faster than guns blazing, but it's a lot safer.

I updated the "Change Looks" mod:
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/ChangeLooks.dll

Now it works as intended. Its probably the mod with the most keys.
Key: Action:
Numpad 1,2 or 3: Save what the currently selected agent or person looks like and name in slot 1, 2 or 3.
Numpad 4, 5 or 6: Apply the clone saved in slot 1, 2 or 3 to the selected agents. Both sex, seed, wardrobe type and name.
Home: Will save the clones of all agents, including their name.
End: Will revert all selected agents to their saved clones.
Numpad 8: Randomize selected agents. Random sex, random looks.
Numpad 9: Randomize the names of selected agents. The name will match their current sex.
Numpad 0: See detailed information about the selected agent or person.
M: change the sex of any selected agent.

I am considering impletenting a way to browse through all names, and search for names by name id.

In the Cheats mod it should now be possible to make all selected agents, except the infiltrator, to enter the car nearest the mouse cursor when pressing numpad 7.

I just added 3 new sections to my modding guide:

Getting into more details about how to do different things with mods.

I got an idea for a mod.

We have seen the Iron Man mode, but when I played it I just never allowed myself to have an agent die without loading anyway. I am thinking a mod would be nice where the game just overall got harder.

Like removing the cloning system, so if an agent dies, he needs a new body, if you run out of bodies, you lose the game. I think it is possible for all agents to use one body, which I guess is explained with cloning, but I think you could make the mod so you cannot do that.

Its not something that makes the game much harder though, since its very easy to collect people for the cloning bank. I guess you could also lose all items that the agent that died had. Everything except the weapons at least, or at least the mods. Would make it more expensive to have an agent die.

You could also make it so that its a bit like the Uber Damage mode, except your agents do not get Uber Damage, only enemies. Which would require a way to make all agents recieve more damage, otherwise you can just hijack people and they will do heavy damage.

Could be fun maybe to make the game more focusing on stealth, and maybe sniper rifles, making a sniper rifle that can one shot most humans, but have a very slow reload time and it can be silent. Making stealth more viable, but still very dangerous. One way to do it could be to make sure the agents cannot get weapons other than sniper rifles and guns. Maybe flamers as well.

Which reminds me it would be awesome with a mod that makes it possible to set people on fire with the flamer. Making them run around, on fire, and screaming while losing health for a while.

Another idea I got for a mod is to make a version of multiplayer where its a free for all. I have noticed it is possible to change what group each agent and civilian is part of, so each player controls one or two agents, they become part of one of the groups in the game, and then you can go around and collect people that will fight for you, every person you select will see you as their leader and follow you around but maybe you cannot control them directly. Then when you have a certain amount of people with you, you get to have a small war with the other player or players :)

By the way, I have heard Linux users trying to use mods, but finding it impossible. Is it true you cannot use mods on Linux yet?

I'm not a modder myself, but I think there might be a use for one, when it comes to Hijacked NPCs available weapons (specifically, having civilians be able to use more than the peashooter). I doubt anyone went as far as to change the UI that far that Hijackeds can be tweaked from the Loadout screen, however, maybe Hijacked could be given a duplicate of what the Hacker uses ontop of whatever else weapons they ended up with by default.

I have found a way to give change weapons on the agents, might be possible for civilians as well. I have found a way to give both agents and civilians any kind of ability in the game.
