Four different players can play together in the same game (from different machines), but the more players you have, the more likely it is that there will be lag, since I believe the slowest connection between any two players would control that. You might even be able to have more players connected, but there are only four agents, so extra players would only be able to watch the game, and maybe spend company resources.
