Achievement fix for No Big Brother achievements
I made something that ought to be of interest to people. The Big Brother achievements are currently broken, so I made a mod that fixes them:
http://dionysus.dk/devstuff/downloads/SatelliteReign/AchievementFix.dll

I implemented different method to check whether all cameras in your current district have been destroyed, if they have you get the achievement.

The tutorial is a good test since it only has 2 cameras. If you have destroyed more than 10 cameras in an area, it will begin to show you progress updates every 20 seconds or so. If you have less than 5 to destroy, it should update every 5 seconds, giving you a pretty constant update.

It seems in the CBD district the CCTVs in the Dracogenics did not need to be destroyed to get the achievement... for now they are included as part of the ones you need to destroy since in the game they are seen as being in the CBD district, so while the area is mapped by some players to have 124 cameras, this mod sees CBD as having 132 cameras. The other areas often have one or two cameras less... not sure which ones are the ones that do not count though.

If you try this and encounter any problems, please report them to me and I will try to fix it if I have the time.

Oh, and if you are unfamiliar with Satellite Reign mods, what you do to use this mod, is you make a folder in the Satellite Reign folder called mods, and add the DLL I linked to that folder. When you load the game next time with this file in the mods folder, it should say "MODDED" under file version when you are in the menu in the game.

An easy way to find this folder is to right click Satellite Reign in your Steam library, click "properties" (the lowest option) then select the pane "local files" and top button will open the games folder.

UPDATE: Added a new version of the mod where you can see the camera status of all areas by pressing B and it also makes it "easier" to get the achievement by looking at the number of cameras that are idle rather than number of cameras destroyed:

Can you put this in the guide section? In the discussions it will go under at some point. It would be easier to find.

Might be a good idea I guess.

Finished the game last June but no matter how good the games are these broken chievs scenarios always leave a bitter taste to them. Somehow I ended on this game forum again yesterday, no goals, no expectations - just completely random. Only to find this beauty of a post on 2nd page. Being a chiev hunter myself, this is like a Biblical discovery (lol).

Gave the Tutorial section a test and the chiev unlocked. After a year even that proved difficult because I forgot everything about how to play. The district areas... damn, totally overwhelming! I defo need to visit the drawing board again, before committing.

Just wanted to Thank You for the MOD, Sir. I even remember you from last time I played because of your earlier MODs. Never though fixing these chievs will ever be possible though. You surely left a mark in my game notes. Well done.

Thanks, I am glad you liked it. I was a bit surprised looking through the code, to find that it was possible. As the high-score right now reveals, and I guess this mod suggests it, you can make mods that just unlock these achievements or give you a certain score. The reason I have completed the game... 800%... is that I had not figured it was a decimal number they had used to represent the %, so when I tried to set it to me having completed the game 80%, which would be a downgrade I ended up having a completion score of 800% because I tried setting it to 80.

I then found out that you cannot use the same method to lower your score again... a bit unfortunate. Maybe the devs might fix it at some point if they pop onto the forums again at some point.

I have thought about fixing the mods about going through districts without killing anyone... but I think because of the early bug you ended up just unlocking those achievements as soon as you entered the new districts... so instead I would have to find some way of storing your number of kills in the save games... somehow. Also I would have to make the mod recognize whether the save game is for a game where the mod was enabled from the beginning, otherwise the point would be lost a bit.

It would probably not end up being an actual achievement (since for most people they got unlocked by mistake anyway), but I could possibly make it so that the game would tell you if you managed to maybe reach a certain district or maybe even if you finished the game, without killing anyone, (except Dengler I guess), you would be told about it somehow.

Don't be modest! I'm pretty sure you got 8000%, not 800%. 80 = 80.00 instead of 0.80, so without the decimal point it's 8000. :steamhappy:
Caldor 5 Thg04, 2018 @ 1:48pm
Uh... yeah, it might be 8000% :steamfacepalm:

I stopped looking at the highscore since I did that :P
