DirectX11-Directx10
I'm starting to see alot of games are being published in Direct X11 just when I got my Gaming laptop earlier this year. I was really looking foward to playing this(And Alien Isolation) but to find out my graphics card doesn't support DirectX11 just breaks my heart, do any of you think DirectX11 games can be dumbed down to Direct X10 or if the develepers might make one? Or does that even happen. Damn, another couple games I have to miss out on becasue I make stupid-ass choices.
Thanks for any help :O

Hmm, I don't think that will happen. But I wonder why someone would buy a new (?) "gaming laptop" with 5-6 years old GPU. I think the last graphics card generation, that did not support DX11, was the gtx 2xx series, which was released in... 2008/2009? . I really would not call that a "gaming laptop". I guess it was rather cheap then.

I'm curious, what laptop/gpu do you even have? Cause I'm kind of surprised a "gaming laptop" bought this year wouldn't support dx11, especially considering my 4 year old laptop can manage dx11.

I have a Sony Vaio, gpu, I'm not so sure It has a ATI Radeon Graphics Card I suppose. I'll give you full sepcs if you want them.

Buying a laptop for gaming is already the first step where you went wrong.

The only laptops worth buying are macs, sell your junk and buy one.

Where did you pick up that laptop? The ATI branding has not been used since 2010, and DirectX 11 was released in 2009. That GPU is really old. If you just bought that laptop this year, you got royally ripped off.

DX10 is outdated you wont see anymore dx9/10 games from AAA titles maybe from indie devs but this is the norm now, hell they are already working on DX12 your laptop is very outdated if it only supports DX10.

Nothing wrong with laptop for gaming, i love mine and better than 90% of most peoples "rigs". Know what your buying though regardless.. Some games that you can tweak in ini and config files you can force dx10 but not likely thatll ever happen for this game
