Age of Mythology: Extended Edition

Will we be able to turn off titans?
One thing that always bugged me with AoM was the fact that you couldn't use the Titans expansion without having access to titans. Will that option be introduced in this? It's not fun to have titans in every single game.

We're looking to do a no-titans option for people who are concerned about their affect on balance. That would just disable the use of the titan unit, not disable the expansion.

thank god, the titans kind of ruined the expansion for me. It just became a rush to get yout titan out first or to kill thier titan building

I liked titans , they provided an extra challenge

+1 they gave you the option of either investing everything you have into a titan or saving those resources and making an army instead. it's not like titans are immortal either they can be killed without too many losses if you have the right units.

Just adding a +1 to this. Titans are great and all, but having this option would do a lot to allow for different match styles, and would be a really good feature.

Not having an aom vanilla mode is a huge mistake which will cost you many buyers/fans. The expansion never made it into WCG so you're smothering competition. It also makes my expectation of lag-free games creep away quite a bit.

Yes, option to disable Titan Gates and Titan Unit would be Great. More Options means more ways to play and make everybody happy.

Not being able to switch off the Titans expansion is a deal breaker for me.

If people are able to disable the expansion, it will split the community online because AoM "Vanilla" can't work with AoM Titans, of course. Maybe it's to avoid this. Or maybe because they are lazy.

Only wanting to support one version of the game is understandable, but if that's their choice they need to go with vanilla. Or at least make the "no titans" option also disable autoqueue, shooting docks, classical TCs, myrms training in the barracks etc., and probably atlanteans in general. And that's just off the top of my head.

I for one, were a huge AoM Vanilla fan, and my hate towards titan was almost obsession.. I played thousands of hours of AoM Vanilla over ESO but never touched titans before this week.

However, after giving it a go 2 days ago, i found almost no differences in gameplay compared to the "good old vanilla".

However, there are two elements im highly concerned off.

1. Titan unit. Why? Cause i feel like its overpowered and breaks the game.
Solution: You can disable it as Ryz0n said. Which will surely satisfy me at least.
Solution 2: Nerfed titans.. I will give this a go as well.

2. New gods im not familar with.
Solution: There is none, however i may end up liking them instead. Who knows?

Other than that, it's pretty much same game with minor adjustments regarding unit balance.

So if you don't like titans, thats not good enough reason to not buy the game :P

We'll still be able to play the campaign from the base game though, right? And then the campaign from the expansion?

Great decision by the developers.
I'd like to see a "Nerfed Titans Game Mode" as well.
As you guys said, more options, more people happy.

ESO is still up and running - not making use of it might also turn out as a failure.

ESO has been down for AoM for years, but Voobly works great.
