Linux update
We wanted to check in with the many people who have been waiting on the Linux version of the game to be ready.

We currently are in process of finishing updating the openGL code of the engine to work with the latest updates to the rendering pipeline. We have change to a deferred rendering model and this caused a bit of delay.

Where we do not have a set release date, we can estimate about another month to complete the Linux client update.

We are still working on it. The big hurdle was the engine was direct X only so we have been working on getting opengl code working well. We have gotten so far DX performance out of the opengl code on windows with an nvidia card. I need to finish cleaning up the Linux port and get this new opengl fixes integrated for our first release and make sure performance is at least decent. Our first release may run better if you have an nvidia card or possible ATI/AMD. intel card support will likely be poor or non existent in initial releases.

I did some more work on it today, here is a screenshot of the in progress build. The linux branch is a bit behind the windows, I still need to update it but I did get the linux build updated with the new opengl code changes today.

Definetly not forgotten, the last 30 days we have not got as much done as fast as we wanted, but we are working hard to get the game where it needs to be.

Does this game run on the following as stated on your store page:

Graphics: DirectX 9 256MB Video Ram
DirectX: Version 9.0c

Or is it now Open GL?

I bought the game thinking it would run DirectX.

But now I can't launch the game. I get the "LoadLibrary failed with error 126."

I'm well aware that my laptop can't play Open GL games which is why I avoid them.

Just wanted to clarify.

On Windows it uses DX. Opengl will be mac and linux. What graphics card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers for it? Also what version of windows are you using?

The opengl in windows I mentioned earlier was for our internal testing of the opengl code in preparation for the linux and mac ports.

Hmmm that is strange. I only get that library load error with open gl games. Since Windows uses DX, then I shouldn't have this problem.

I'm using Windows 7. My graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5000.

Yep. Got the latest drivers for it when I first encounted this open gl problem with Windforge. Couldn't play that game in the end.

Do you know if steam installed directX? try installing this web installer to make sure you have the directX dlls the game expects. While you have directX installed, it may be different files than what the game is expecting. This installer will download and install any missing dlls.

Yeap. I already look through the forums and tried that link b4 you brought it up and it said that I had the latest DX, so no install was necessary.
