Ether One v1.0.3
Hey all!

So we've gathered all the bugs you guys have been finding and HOPEFULLY fixed them all. If you get a bug once your version of Ether One has updated please feel free to report it again as we consider all bugs previously mentioned, fixed.

Ether One v1.0.3

- Fixed several savegame-related issues with lost items and levels getting reset upon load or change area.
- Added many preventative measures to stop savegames getting corrupted.

Ether One v1.0.3

Gameplay issues fixed:
- Fixed Puzzle objects becoming unreadable if texture detail is lowered.
- Removed a nonessential puzzle item causing a giant box with 'etherpickupitem' to appear after reloading the game.
- Halved the rendertarget budget in areas.
- Made puzzle items keep fidelity in a low-texture detail option.

Menu options:
- English subtitles now correct and showing over all dialogue.
- Fixed subtitles not working at certain resolutions (1280x1024)

Ether One v1.0.2

- Fixed FOV slider not updating value
- All item placement related bugs should now be fixed. This includes the issue where ankle bells could not be replaced in the Mayday puzzle. Existing save files should also no longer have this issue.
- Fix for camera spinning into oblivion on low frame rates added.
- The Case safe does not allow content to overlap.
- Last projector does not cut out anymore.

Ether One v1.0.1

Gameplay issues fixed:
- The pesky Post Office lift disappearing through the world (it just goes up now & not down).
- The Mill Management lift staying at the top if you teleport out of the area - it should automatically come back down.
- The Picture frame disappearing (People who found it will know what this is ;) ).
- May Day house not detecting when items are placed.
- Lock combos locking for no reason (super frustrating I know!).
- Achievements should all have pretty pictures now.

Menu options:
- Added motion blur toggle option
- Ambient Occlusion toggle option
- Texture Detail - Recommended to play on at least high. We know that when you set the game to Low some of the puzzle items aren't as clear. We'll work on fixing that :)
- Will now only update game resolution if the player applies changed resolution or VSync settings in Video options.
- Some settings that didn't save upon closing of the game, including gamma, are now fixed.

Oculus Rift Support:
- Fixed unable to turn with mouse / gamepad bug.
- Fixed 'Start new game' only showing a silent black screen.
- Fixed Save game menu locking out all game input forever.
- Removed forced 1280x800 resolution on startup.

Known Issues:
Oculus - Our in-game Oculus settings menu is currently hidden until the next patch. For now, you can enable Oculus Rift mode by opening Ether One/UDKGame/Config/UDKEngine.ini, finding [Engine.Stereo3D] and set Enabled to true instead of false. All menus are now functional with it.
Oculus - If the camera is faded, menus and UI elements are also masked by the camera fade. This is at it's most noticeable if you pause during the opening sequence, which has a fully faded camera during the opening dialogue.
Oculus - Credits sequence is not yet visible with Oculus due to the camera fading issue above.

Apologies about the big file size in the v1.0.3 update. The update was mostly due to us spending time optimising the game content to work on lower end PCs/Laptops (they're big files!) - It's something we'd really like to focus on so that more people can play Ether One. If you've already played through Ether One without any issues you don't need to install the update as they're mostly optimisations on how the game runs. That was hopefully the biggest update but we'll possibly be updating some more content in a few weeks.

Another part of the update was getting our Deluxe edition up onto the Steam store page which includes the Soundtrack, Comics & game scripts & some of the files are similar which added to your update.

Be sure to let us know if you find any issues :)

Thanks for allowing us to remove AO. It makes a huge hit on performance!

The May Day house is still broken.
Has the update been pushed to GOG as well? I'm not seeing the game as updated on my account.

Soo much better using the rift in 1080p now. Text is much clearer.

Hey Dr. President - Uploading patch now. You should see it in the next day.

@ZuluPilot - great to hear!

Thanks for the update - Unfortunatly I still can't move 3 of the 4 safe combo wheels in the manger's office in the village Inn.

Is the patch for non-Steam versions going to be available soon?
Bullz Apr 12, 2014 @ 4:02pm
Same for me as with Dr. Dogstreet... Had no problems at first but then suddenly when i wanted to show the game to a friend those wheels wouldn't want to turn.. :/

@Lenny - it should be out for non-Steam versions too. Where can't you find it?

@Dr/Free 4 Live - We've got a fix! Need to test it more thoroughly so that we don't break anything on a large scale but we should be able to get it pushed out this week.
Lenny Apr 13, 2014 @ 4:36am
Pete - I bought it from the Humble store. I checked your site but didn't find info about a direct download for the patch anywhere.

Did you use a Steam key through Humble or DRM-Free?

Unfortunately the lift in mill management still doesn't want to come back down for me...

And now i can't turn the 4th dial of the safe :-(

@Lenny - Thanks. We'll look in to it.

@Pogopuschel - Did the 4th dial not open when you wrote it either? :( We've force fixed that issue for anyones combos that were already broken on the patch. We just need to test it a little more then will update this week.

Thanks Pete. Wish I'd got the Steam version now! I can't even remember why I went for the direct download instead.
