So i'll throw my hat into the ring here. So I am bi, but I don't consider myself modern lgbt, I just go about my life and only bring it up when it's relevant, like this topic.

I also used to hate "woke media", because I was too lazy to actually check things and just react to headlines and media posts.

Then one day I was bored and I saw one of these "woke games" on mega discount on steam, suicide squad kill the justice league.

I played that game for about 15 minutes, and hit a point where Harley Quinn, insults another member of the team by implying they are gay, a literal "HAA GAAAAYYY" moment. It was at that point, I realised that none of the people crying woke had even played the game as much as 15 minutes...to realise that a "woke game" wouldn't use sexuality as a joke to mock someone with like that...and that the game was in fact...not woke. Now the game was boring and repetitive, but woke? Not even close.

I remember similar ♥♥♥♥ when the last of us part 2 came out, and everyone incorrectly started saying the main villain was a trans women...when in fact it was just a buff women...and yet the last of us part 1, that people LOVED...has a literal homosexual moment, when Bill finds his gay partner dead in a house, and Ellie steals a gay porn magazine from Bills stash...yet not one called that game woke.

Now onto the actual topic of Spider-Man 2, I have completed it on PS5, and yes it has a gay side mission, where you help a male school kid ask out a boy he fancies to the prom...but so what? Gay people exist...that doesn't make the game woke...

I mean theres literally a 30min MAIN mission where you take MJ on a date to the faire...theres also a huge amount of subplots and missions involving Miles and him trying to get with a deaf girl...both are straight stories involving relationships...spider-man has always had romantic "teen romance" themes in it...

A single side mission, and some rainbow flags around the map, does not make a game woke...honestly you people who are like how I used to be, crying woke this woke that...♥♥♥♥ is only woke if you go LOOKING for the specific "woke" parts of them...when in reality they tend to be like 0.001% woke. It's the same on the other side too, everything is facist or homophobic or w/e if you go looking for those parts. (There are exceptions of course, that weird Dustborn game, where the whole gameplay revolved around woke terminology and shouting left leaning phrases at people etc. was woke...but then even the left hated that game...)

Point is, stop believing and stop focusing on little details people tell you and actually go try the game/movie/book/comic/tv show/music and use your own brain to decide if you enjoy it or not, spending your life hating for the sake of hating is no way to live on either side of the spectrum.

I mean yeah. What did you expect? Rarely ever do they admit when a highly praised game was woke- but this one literally had Sweet Baby Inc on it. They’re just whiny hypocrites lashing out. They do this with movies too. The Mario movie stopped being woke garbage real fast after it was a hit

Can you imagine needing to filter everything through a sociopolitical agenda calculator before deciding if you will enjoy it? I honestly feel bad for people stuck in a mindset of left vs right, where everything has to fall somewhere on a spectrum of WOKE to MAGA.

Spider-Man, Hogwarts, Baldurs Gate 3, GoW Ragnarok...I've played and enjoyed all of these games recently. For every 30 or 40 hours of each game, I maybe spent 5 minutes going "oh jeez, here comes the SBI nonsense", then I get back to having fun. Why would I care about some agenda forced down my throat by some rich demagogue who couldn't care if I live or die?

Same with real life. I spend 95% of my life just living and trying to be happy, the other 5% thinking about the idiocy that comes out of the extreme right and left, and thats usually because I'm reading an article (or a badly moderated Steam forum thread) about some dumb thing a ridiculous woke/maga fool said or did.

Populism is a meaningless lie sold to you by the rich and powerful. They don't care about you, they don't really want what you want, regardless of what they say. They just want you under control, and social agendas are the easiest way to hypnotize the masses. We truly are living in the idiocracy when so many of you care more about wokery than basic common kindness.
