The Legend of the Cuddlefish Leviathan.
Back, millions of years ago, the precursors were attempting to find a cure for Kharaa. The precursors were dying from this bacterium, and had no current way of stopping it. One bright precursor, named Kenneth, thought of trying to bring in a native creature from the depths of the precursor home-world.

He brought a colony of a species of fish called "Cuddlefish". The Cuddle fish were a war-like species of life-forms. They would often have colonies or hives, led by their leader, the cuddlefish leviathan. The cuddlefish leviathan would have to be teleported to Planet 4546B, because of its gargantuan size.

The cuddlefish leviathan would dig a massive cave system and lay dormant almost everyday, except for days with solar eclipses. Its minions, cuddlefish like the ones you see today, would often kill creatures to bring back to their leader.

Kenneth, being as bright as he was, attempted to try and bring a species which the precursors thought may have the cure to kharaa, the sea emperors. He brough a sea emperor to the location where the cuddlefish leviathan lay dormant, hoping for them to communicate, as they knew the sea emperors could.

Instead of them communicating, the cuddlefish leviathan sent an army of 50,000 cuddlefish to attack the sea emperor, since the it thought the sea emperor was a threat. The cuddlefish swarmed the sea emperor, resulting in it dying. The sea emperor's decaying body only brought more sea emperors to the fight.

Kenneth knew this would end in disaster, so he gave the cuddlefish leviathan a boost in the battle, since cuddlefish were extremely rare on his home planet. This made the cuddlefish leviathan just as powerful itself as 7 sea emperors. The fight lasted for several days, possibly a week.

Eventually, the fight ended in a draw, with only one sea emperor left, and only so many cuddlefish eggs. These eggs were unable to be hatched, unless given special treatment. The remaining sea emperor was confined by the precursors, and most of the cuddlefish eggs were taken back to the home planet of the precursors.

Millions of years have passed, and there are still living cuddlefish eggs, and that lone sea emperor, along with this note i found in one of the precursor bases. On the back of this note, my PDA ws able to translate it to "If one may find a cuddlefish egg, it may be possible to bring back the cuddlefish leviathan, but only when exposed to baby sea emperor enzymes. We have not yet found a way to hatch baby sea emperors, but one day, maybe, one day..."

This story I made up just for some fun, none of this actually happened, unless it is added as dlc or something.
