About the Neptune Escape Rocket
The captain bravely struggled to bring the Aurora down in a controlled landing, so that the long range communications equipment would survive intact, and the survivors could get assistance from Alterra. During the crash, he sends a message to Alterra, saying they need a rescue plan.

Later, the player character hears that Alterra had just one brief window to send a return message, so they've sent plans for a rescue vehicle.

That message was apparently sent some time ago, in response to the captain's message. As far as Alterra knows, everyone survived.

So, why does the Neptune have space for only one person?

The same thought occured to me. Were they supposed to build a rocket for each person? I think they should have redesigned the area with lockers and have a circle of seats or something instead.

The other problem is that you need the alien power cell technology to power it.

They kind of cover that: the message from Alterra says, "It's going to need one hell of a power source," just before getting cut off. So, it makes some narrative sense that they hadn't worked out that critical detail, but you luckily stumble on to a solution.

multiple people can build the same thing.

Or, maybe the captain was the only Big enough Shot who mattered? The others could, perhaps, be rescued later when they had more information, or if that turned out to be impossible or not worth the risks and costs, it's not that there was any shortage of recruits waiting for a chance of getting their "training against service" contract.

Alterra's a trans-nat corp, not a democracy. You've read enough sci-fi to know how these things work. :steamhappy:

a circle of seats would cause everyone to die
the limiting factor isnt seating space
its life support 02 and such
if it launched with 3 people
everyone would asphixate

also there is a chance that it sent more than one ship and the pda chose the best one

That would make more sense.
