Yeah stuck with the smae problem, but the fix won't change the saves. Thats a completely different bug.
You should be able to change the setting back to enabled without the original bug coming back, but you'll still have the problem where you can't load a saved game after this or save a new game.
It's over a month now, without any changes to the "save" bug. I liked subnautica alot but it has no more value to me when you can't save anymore.
I'm glad my mousfix helps at least.

Thank you for the binary file, had to find the reason.
The very first character in this file has to be changed to the ° (degree) character to fix the save and load issues.
My best guess is that they encoded the VR/normal/etc versions by either using the the hexcode "x00B0" or decimalcode "176" of that character to determine that it's normal mode.
With the newest Star Citizen alpha updates coming soon, I don't know how much more game time I'll be spending in Subnautica for a while.
