Mostly because we do have some scary monsters in it :)
Think of it as taking your children to Disney everytime they play the game.
This game would be great for him, its non violent, and the exploration aspect is incredable, and its barely Alpha, can only imagine what Beta, let alone a complete game will be. Having played MANY shooters myself, this is a nice change. If your feeling generous, I would get him Subnautica and Kerbal Space program.
Reaper Leviathan even freaked me out as soon as i spawned it (i'm not a man who gets freaked out by something on screen but that thing did.)
12 years old will get trauma for rest of his life if you add more of those monsters.
So, definately age 22+!
na, kidding :D
If you can only get one, get KSP. I love love love subnautica but it is still so early access and KSP is basically a complete game now. Plus the educational aspect. And Subnautica still has stability issues and crashes frequently, which could be even more frustrating to a kid than piloting learning curve.
I agree, it's a great game for all ages. There isn't anything here that would make me think it would be unsuitable for the younger folks.
