I was unaware they have already changed the story. And yes, I understant the game is EA. To me, it makes it fun. Because you don't know what to expect on what the Devs have planned. And so far, I don't have a single dislike about the game.
And what you say is indeed true. Simliar to FNAF and Undertale. The story of the game is what the player makes of it. Which only adds to the fun in my book. But, would it be an ok-ish idea if there was a story mode to the game? It looks and plays just as the game is now. But the code can read these special milestones hence playing the cutscenes. But even with a story mode function, the story should stil appear in the "non-story" mode of the game. Just as it's now.
But as we know. The devs have the final say, and I do congratulate them on all the work they have done for us. Even some of the bugs were fun to mess around with. But it would be interesting to see, if they realease an "offical" story in the future. Or else, we shall become like the fans of FNAF. Forever wondering and debating which timeline holds the truth to what we seek!
I like that the game leaves so much to my own unique imagination. A cut scenes or cutscene(s), may actually spoil some of my personal enjoyment in the game. The dread and wondering about so many of the little tidbits we get has kept me interested for over 250 hours (145 on my copy of the game in Stable, 105 on my husband's copy of the game in Experimental).I kinda don;t want an actual endgame. I want to be able to keep playing and exploring, making my own story and doing some roleplaying, and seeing how much of the little nooks and crannies of the world i can find and be surprised by. I felt somewhat disappointed after I finshed the Pacifist, Neutral and Genocide runs in Undertale. And though I enjoyed all of the FNaF games, it became somewhat too predictable. Both great games, but the more linear progression left me wishing it was less so.
Just my take on it, and mileage will vary. Greatly.
