dont think so, if its annoying you, you can always cheat and use the command "day" to set time to morning whenever you want

I don't need to cheat ... I want to longer day .. the same applies to the night (at the same rate)

It doesn't feel normal every 10 minutes changing day/night that's all :) I do not like it

Is that a problem for you? I just want to add an item to the settings .. (Anyone can edit by yourself) or don't change ..

I like people as you - it suits you = must also to others
I thought here I can present its proposals ... probably not

There's a console command to change the day/night scale, but it causes several bugs. Any animated machines like the fabricator or battery/pcell chargers depend on the default timescale to animate properly. Fabricators actually break and won't finish their animation on a lower than default scale, so you can't craft anything. Hunger/thirst depletion also follows this scale, so turning it down has the side effect that you have to eat and drink less often and survival becomes even easier.

I suspect that's why there's not an official slider to adjust it either. At least, not until so many other things in the game that depend on the day/night timescale are made to not be so dependent on it. A hastily implemented slider would likely just use this same variable that the console command affects and would enable you to break things and screw up the survival difficulty balance.

Like Nova said, use the day command to force daytime or, like Wink said, get used to the cycle for the hopefully short amount of time prior to building your first seamoth and having it's pair of perpetual headlights to negate the darkness. At that point, nighttime is no longer much of a hindrance to gathering and you hardly even care if it's day or night.

I would like to see this too. The default day/night cycle right now is absurd. That was actually the very first thing that was irritating me in this game when I started to play.
It would also be nice to have an ability to set particular day time forever. I love dawns and I would love to play at this time only for as long as I want.

If this is truly the case, then someone clearly made an incredible mistake in coding the game. I hope it won't be hard to fix and I hope devs will be willing to fix it.

I would like to see the day/night cycle permanently extended; it became very apparent to me when I was doing my scanner range video, and I had to flip it to day twice.

Also, am I correct in saying that night is shorter than day? (I've never timed it, it just seems that way - can someone confirm?). If that's the case, I think they should either make them the same, or make it a 2 star system to account for the longer day.

I never timed it too, but I once had similar impression. Then again we also have eclipses, but they don't happen always. They happen from time to time. Maybe similarly from time to time we have shorter and longer nights.
