Sunrunner - Yesterday at 1/21/18
I can give some background on fish not moving
first, the server doesn't start up with any environmental configs so there is a hard coded entity spawning path. We'll look to adding a server.cfg to fix this
in the current version, most entities are spawning, moving, and syncing appropriately
there are some edge cases around cross-batch syncing that we have not fully ironed out (you can see my previous conversation with nes to get context)

I wish them the best of luck.

Hopefully some day they get it polished enough to discredit most of the "Pfft, making that work in any meaningfull way is Unpossible!" trash talk that ♥♥♥♥♥ on it because they think anyone so much as trying is some kind of insult to the developers.

Though my most optimistic estimate is "Mostly works, though you'll still fall through the floor of the Cyclops twice as often as it happens in the official product". With the final comedy that only one person can use the escape rocket.

No joke this is one of the more exciting parts.

The devs made a good character head. So it feels like such a waste that right now it only exists in the Ad campaign for us people using the official product.

It deserves to exist outside of commercials and in game cutscenes (not that it's even in any in game cutscenes for the moment).

This is the main reason I can't wait for the game to be official. Modders will do what the devs wouldn't or couldn't. I would welcome additions such as Coop MP or lethal weapons that a survivor would no doubt make for protection, etc. I'll send them some cash if it works well if they ask for donations, just as i would have payed for MP as DLC. More Fun = Worth Money in my book.

Or I guess I could just play through the whole content another time...

If the devs reconsidered forcing a misguided dishonest assessment of human morality (following rules/laws in favor of preserving ones own life) into a video game and added a second boot option with just these two items added in the new option 95% PLUS of the "don't change nuffin" guys would be loading that sucker instead. I'd bet anything. Good to see that someone is listenting.

he is wishing luck to the ones that are making this mod..and the other post he made it saying how the devs made a good player head model and how its ashame you can only see it in cut-sceans

sooner or later as pointed out by a dev on the subnautica forum boards these modders are going to run into issues with moving objects, spawning objects, making sure both computers get the same data and a number of other things the devs say are going to be really hard to get around.

right now i remain indifferent and until i see some serious progress on this mod.

thats small stuff in the same zone and in the same "square". each landscape is a square section that is next to another, each square has it's own stuff in it. the thing i'm most interested in is spawning fish between players that are 5 squares apart at varying positions, about getting all that data to work together and how the game reacts to stuff much further out just beyond your field of view and that other players. and so on.

He makes the common mistake of thinking that just because I point out the bugs and balance issues this game still has, that I just hate the entire game.

That's the internet for you. Most people view games, movies, etc only through the stance of either thinking it is 120% perfection, or 120% garbage.

I think one of the biggest challenges will involve movement at high speeds, as well as what happens when they use the portals.

Even right now, using the portals in single player can be screwy. So a polished Co-Op mod will in turn, rely on waiting until the base game is more polished for a lot of it's potential progress. As much as any thoughts that"co-op is literally impossible!".

Some fans working on it at least,will have the luxury of ONLY trying to get co-op working, with the leeway of being able to settle for "Mostly working".

A big reason the Devs are not doing multiplayer is because they honestly do not have the resources to work on it on top of everything else in making the game in the first place. It's a legit reason, if one often overshadowed by shouting matches about whether or not they said they would, etc.

There's no reason to poo-poo somebody's attempt to shove co-op into this single player game, I just get suspicious when CONTRIBUTE HERE! is the second line on the video info. Wish you the best of luck guys, but I'll save my hard-earned dollars for more clearly legitimate endeavors.
