I think he may be off by a day or 2. I swear I saw hm with that same sign a week ago or so. Sometimes the Trello dates are off by a day or 2 or 3 or more too. Let's hope this isn't one of those times. ;)
Trigger easily much?
You must be new here. You weren;t around for the "Creatures AttacK' update, that had a date shown on Trello. Never heard of that update? That's because it didn;t happen. Just like the Rock Puncher being added had a date on the Trello, a long time ago. Also... didn;t happen. Because... stuff happens. And numerous other updates that did not get shipped on the first date shown on Trello for them. Because- stuff happens. Delays. They can, and have happened. Hopefully this will not be another update that gets delayed. A date on the Trello is not "proof". It is an aspirational date they give, meaning they expect to be able to ship the udate on that date. As long as no major bugs or glitches occur that e need fixing first.
Though, the Experimental Branch looks pretty good right now. So, hopefully this will not be another delayed update. "Proof" will be when the Stable Branch Update starts downloading on this account. Because I don;t play Experimental on this account. I only play that on another account and another rig.
Hey Cougar, any thought on Atlassian aquiring Trello? I wonder how it will efect companies using Trello...

But if they don't. I would really, REALLY love the wonderous miracle that would be them just writing "When it's done" on the roadmap for Terraforming overhaul.
Instead of yet another case of "It will be ready NEXT month!", getting all passive agressive about it when they go "Well you cant put a date on game dev!" before proceeding to write "Next month" on it again.
Their problem is "Next Month" has been basically a year long process by now.
If you actually looked closer at that roadmap you are touting so much as "proof, you would see the trello card for terraforming removal is just a long string of it it's date being shuffled back.
Terraforming removal is a huge workload, and probably the biggest deal outside of launch. So it's not the DELAYS that are the problem. They can take as much time as they want or need on this, because oh my goodness it's a huge deal.
The actual problem is not the delays. It is the the constant "NEXT month, for sure! get hype!" And then them acting surprised over any negative reaction to the words 'Roadmap dates are subject to change' being a horse beaten so dead it's just a stain in the pavement. This is what people are becoming burnt out on.
They would save players a lot of headache if they just declared terraforming "When it's done" instead of "X date, totally"... But, that doesn't generate as much free PR.
Change the Game's steam properties to "Only update when I launch"
Then change steam to offline mode when you want to play it.
Thank you SLaP! I knew I saw that crazy guy with the sign. *chuckles*
(And I would rather have an update delayed until it is solid, than have it shiped too soon, and arrive in shattered pieces. I'll just keep playing Exp Branch on hubby's account until this comes through. Really, REALLY pleased with much of what I have been seeing in Experimental.)
Sheesh, i only just finnished my base, been having lots of crashes and freezers that last about 3 minutes, and for some flipping reason i cant build the Cyclops, it's been a year and theres places i've never even seen! lol.
Also the removal of terraforming by itself won't give that much of a peformance boost (if any), but it will allow them to work on fixing some of the bigger performance issues.
If SPORE can hold an entire universe worth of customizations in a savefile and still functions properly, removing terraforming for "performance optimization" is the same as admiting you don't want to spend the time necessary to work around it.
I know it is still in alpha and a lot things change, but if there is so much public outcry to not remove a feature that is already ingame, it doesn't matter if it will push the release date forward a couple of months or more, it will pay off eventually by making people happier.
And a satisfied client is always a good thing.
