Beta Branches
Branch Explanation
Currently we have 3 different builds of the game available on steam. You can change which one you are using by right clicking on this game in your steam library, selecting properties, going to the beta tab and selecting the one you want to use.

You can leave the password blank as no branches are password protected.

If you use a branch and wish to report a bug, please include the version number at the bottom of the main menu and the name of the branch you are using.

Be aware that different versions and branches of the game cannot play with each other. Any player or server you wish to play with must be on the same version and branch.

Nightly is our least stable branch. It is build daily at midnight (GMT) directly from our current source code. It will contain whatever we are currently working on, no guarantees are given for its stability. If you value your save data, leave well enough alone :). If you don't mind the risk and want to see what we are working on, then go for it.

The RCBuild branch that is currently being tested by us for public release. When we are happy with the current state of this branch it gets promoted to the main branch. This branch is usually fairly stable, but same risks apply as nightly.

The main branch is the one you will be using by default. It contains the latest version of the game that we have publically released and believe is reasonably stable. If you get problems with this branch, tell us immediately so we can get fixing!

Have fun.

Be aware you also cannot transfer save data back to old versions of the game. So if you play on nightly then reinstall the main branch your save data will need to be cleared.
Is their a way to back up your save data and also how is steam inventory affected by this?

Save data backup - You *should* (no guarantees) be able to just copy/paste over the save file which is normally stored at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[random-numbers-representing-your-steamid]\263920\remote\user.xml

Similar paths on mac/linux, just find the steam root folder.

Steam Inventory - Shouldn't make any difference. Inventory changes are made seperately and globally, as they involve changing steam configuration not just local code.

At the moment thats correct.

Nightly is currently on latest as I turned it off because it was killing diskspace on our perforce server - I'll look at re-enabling that soonish.

RCBuild is currently on latest as that was the last one tested for release.
