Multiplayer, and Dedicated Servers
Hello Gamers,

If you want to host a multiplayer match, depending on your network configuration, you may need to have ports 7777, and 27015 open in order to host the game.

Protip from FR GamerVader: You need to have steam running in the background of your what ever system in order for the server to show in the list.

---

If you want to host a dedicated server, you'll want to create a batch file (TXT file renamed to .BAT) with the following text:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FinalRush\Binaries\Win32\UDK.exe" server fr_co_cargo.udk?dedicated=true?ServerName=Final_Rush_Dedicated_Server?ServerNameEnd?bIsLanMatch=false?FRDifficulty=1?bShouldAdvertise=true?NumPublicConnections=4?FRPortUsed=7777?steamsockets -Port=7777

You may need to change the lines highlighted in bold to properly match the location of the Steam library containing Final Rush.

---

If you wish to change your dedicated server name you can change the name after ?ServerName in the text above. Make sure you use "_" as a space otherwise the startup line will not be properly read.

-

If you want to change the difficulty that your server hosts simply change the number after FRDifficulty to 0, 1, 2, or 3.

The difficulties are as follows:
0: Easy
1: Normal
2: Hard
3: Extreme

-

If you want to change the port that your server is using change the number after -Port= and make sure the number after ?FRPortUsed= is also the same.

- Luke

No way to bypass the 'Invalid Platform' on steamcmd in linux? Was looking forward to running it through wine. My 1Mbps upload is going to take a while uploading the game.

A really quick question, how do you get Lan to work? Do you need to Open those ports? No matter what we do we can't see the host no matter who hosts. (he's on a different account but we're in the same network (lan). Any suggestions or am I missing something obvious?
Thanks

If the LAN server isn't displaying on the server list use the command prompt to find your local IP address ("ipconfig" in command prompt and look under IPV4 in Ethernet Adapater) and then have your friend use "open IP" (Ex: "open 192.168.1.5") in console to join.

The .bat file can be anywhere as long as the path points to your Steam Final Rush folder properly.

Thanks, is it normal that there are no servers available to join?
The Open IP solution worked.
Cheers

It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried everything under the moon to try to get it to work, but I guess you have to have all that stuff there to get it to work right lol :)

Literally as of just a few minutes ago a new version was uploaded that should fix that. We noticed it a few hours ago. Verify the integrity of your game cache for FR, and it should download the new version if you don't have it already.

Well, I hit refresh quite a few times, and another server did pop up, called "Test server", but then it went away after hitting refresh again.

Servers from the same local computer (and sometimes LAN) will not show up on the server list currently.

Use "open 127.0.0.1" (same computer) or "open LAN_IP" (replacing LAN_IP with the local IP address of the hosting computer) to connect to them.

The server list should now properly display more than one server though, assuming more than one server is actively up.
