Final boss?
This thing is BS. If you hit it he immediately sends your ball straight down to death. This is the only stage that I've had to restart and I've had to restart it a dozen times now because of a stupid instant kill, not to mention that only one ball does any damage so if he kills that one, gg. How are you supposed to get around that?!

Are you talking about the third one of the three bosses? I just got killed by him the second time in a row now. This doesn't sound like a big deal but consider it takes about an hour (!) to even get there, so it's really frustrating.

Problem is, once you lose the healer and don't have any mana left, it's really hard to come back into the game. I just addressed this problem to Phantom Compass via Twitter. They seem to know that there is a balancing problem ;)

You are not alone in your frustration, we have heard from a number of players on this issue. We're looking into potential tweaks, e.g. a checkpoint system is in testing right now for the final battle.

Thanks for your feedback!

One strategy I liked to use was to avoid attacking at first in order to build up your mana. It can take some subtle, precise flipper movements, but you can hit the mana braziers while avoiding contact with the enemy. Worst-case scenario you hit one of the shielded skeletons, but their parries tend to go straight to your flippers, rather than the drain. When the flaming bats appear, switch to the hunter to clear them out (unless you have enough upgrades for the 0% party mana drain).

Using your healer to build up full mana, switch to the knight and activate his shield, ideally after just barely hitting him, so that he falls right back onto the flipper. Immediately switch to the rogue and go on the attack. When the shield runs out, switch to the knight again to reactivate it, since you should have enough mana left over. Once you're low on mana, repeat the whole process.

Thanks for the replies, after many more tries I figured out that this thing is definitely beatable. A checkpoint would be fantastic even if it was just that stage. Oddly enough that was the on part of the game where I actually had to sit and think of a method to not get insta killed. Holding the ball and going for really precise strikes was all I could do and I had to pray that I didn't screw up the angle to lose my damager, the knight didn't seem to knock him down long enough to get the damage out in time for a free hit. Overall a very fun game that does a lot really well outside of (only) 1 really REALLY frustrating part.

I haven't beaten the 3rd boss yet, but I kind of like that board. It was one of the few boards where I really had to think how to get through it. Unfortunately, it takes me ages to get that far, which means a difficult and interesting board is now a huge frustration. Sounds like the devs are thinking of ways to address it; certainly adding a checkpoint (or just splitting the final board into multiple levels) would be a vast improvement. Fun game overall, though!

Richard, I have the Knight maxed out on upgrades (but not the Rogue), he still seems to be the best bet when it comes to doing damage. Seems as the armor of The Three doesn't bring that much extra DPS to the Rogue. Anyway, I'll give it a shot.
[SEGA] Richard 22 Nov, 2014 @ 10:47am
Oh, well that might be your problem. While that armor might not grant too much extra damage normally, it does considerably more damage against the Three Warriors bosses. You should be hitting them for around 500 damage on each hit from the rogue.

This is alluded to in the pre-battle cutscene when they say using the armor is necessary to defeat the Three.

Iam at the third boss, thanks for the advices Richard. I won't give up :D

Have fun everyone !

Patience was really the key for me on the 3rd boss. My first attempt was hilarious, probably 30 seconds of launch-die-launch-die-etc. Then just dead.

In retrospect I like linking all 3 bosses into one big battle at the end. I think if the cut scenes were seperated out so you didn't have to slog through them every time that'd be great (I even liked them the first time through, but not so much by the 3rd...). I found that the battles had me swapping a lot more characters than normal, which is fun, especially since the Rogue deals so much damage to the bosses but not so much the minions.

@GinSnob, we're going to add a checkpoint system to the final battle so you don't have to do the entire thing over again every time you are defeated. Will be in an upcoming patch.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, we are listening.

Good news on the checkpoints. I have played through the bosses twice, and died twice, Quite irritating having to re-do what you already done : )
kressenstein 23 Nov, 2014 @ 7:06pm
So, my third attempt now finally got me through the final stage. Yay! Thanks for your tipps, Richard, they definitely helped although I was very close to losing to the third boss one more time.

I really wasn't aware how much damage the Rogue does with the armor. I mean, it makes sense but it might still be a good idea to stress it a second time (maybe as a gameplay hint?) that you should definitely try to equip the Rogue when hitting the bosses.

I agree with the comments made about the third boss!!! You finally get there and it's over in a minute. Just make it Battle Part 1, 2 and Final - Hopefully in version 1.2 :)

I'm on the third boss, but it would be nice to replay the first two again...as the Battlefield now starts on the third boss only. After 6 attempts I've gotten close to beating him... Need more flipper healing ability in this fight!

I give up on this ♥♥♥♥.
