We need skill-based matchmaking
I'm tired of these PvErs ruining my games by downing over and over against the most telegraphed boss in existence. Proper dodging is a foreign concept to them; the best they can do is go duchess and spam roll or play guardian and pray turtling will make up for having no skill (it won't). If I even see someone go down on day 1 I just leave, you already know what the game is going to be like. It's so frustrating

SBMM would solve all of this. People who can solo bosses should be matched with other people who can. It would make our games more enjoyable, we can sweat all we want without having to quit out early because the revenant got downed for the 5th time on night 2. And scrublets who haven't gotten gud yet can play with other people with skill issues and not ruin my games. When they eventually get better SBMM will bring them up to our level and they'll have enough experience to not be dead weight

SBMM would benefit literally everyone and make the game far more enjoyable :praisesun:

Nah, I like hard carrying two deadweights. Just beat the final boss on Wylder where I did just that, getting both of them up multiple times while bullying him with Marika's hammer. Skill diffing casuals has always been half the fun of FS games, it just happens to be a pure PvE experience this time around.

What the game really needs is more content because runs simply don't have enough variety to be fun when none of them have felt unwinnable in the 59 hours it took me to finish the achievements. I hesitate to count the "new" Jaw fight as content because the rate on the currency is so ass. :2016bee:

True, but then those casuals act like they're oh-so-good because they "beat" the boss and think their playstyle and skill level are far greater than they are, leading to them never learning or improving

That's why I never sunbro in these games, only invade. It shows them plain and simple how much they need to learn
I had a similar run to Saph. Two people who were obviously newer to the genre and/or Nightreign who couldn't survive for more than 10 seconds against a bell bearing hunter. Instead of leaving, I did leave the boss as he would be too tanky solo and would take an eternity and we did other things that they were more prepared for. Night 2, I went back and spanked the hunter with stronger gear for the team and we mostly cleared the castle.

The expedition ended successfully even though there were approximately 10 revives that happened throughout the first two days between those two players. If you give up, you'll never improve yourself.

I don't need to improve myself. I can solo the bosses just fine, but I'm not going to spend my time carrying some guys who clearly can't hold their own; they won't improve if I do that

Sounds like you do if someone else's lack of skill can impact your enjoyment of the game. If I were to deduce the reason, I'd wager you aren't enjoying yourself with lackluster teammates due to having a failed run. I'd even wager that the majority of people who have the ability to hard carry a team to victory vastly enjoy being the momentary "main character" that ends up soloing the boss and saving the run.
I just got out of a Driftknight run that we could have finished if the Wylder and I didn't have a Ironeye who was playing like it was his firs time. He didn't skip the into cinematic either.

New rule moving forward, if someone doesn't skip the intro I'm just going to ALT+F4 and go do something else for 15 minutes instead of having almost an hour of my time just wasted.

SBMM OR at the very least match people based on number of completed runs or literally anything else compared to what they're doing now.
Hmm... No, no we dont.

Dawg it's a waste of my time

It's a telltale sign when they don't skip immediately
I swear to God reading this type of posts feel like being forced to hang out with the kid that wants to hang out with because he wants to force his way on everyone else.

You know what would be better than SBMM? Banning weirdos who are so poorly socialized that can't even play a game if things don't go 100% their way. You leave, you get banned for a week. I've beaten bosses with a lvl7 team, grow a spine or play solo.

Ah my mistake. Didn't realize how precious your time was since we are talking about a nonessential hobby over a fantasy world. Also that we are arguing this over steam forums. Yes yes, go enjoy your time then. Though I think the closer answer is that co-op games aren't for you with your current mentality.

Co-op games are great fun when everyone is of similar skill. You must agree it stops being fun when half of the time is spent catering to someone who barely beat the tutorial. I'm sure it's not fun for them either, having to watch someone play the game for them while they sit at 3 bars. It's a waste of their time too

Absolutely not, I'd rather play with someone that has no idea what they're doing but is trying to win and have fun than a sweaty weirdo that treats the game like going to war. SBMM has a reason to exist in PvP, not in PvM.

The point of cooperation is that you do your best to work with others, if you're better than your teammates you help them, this isn't a competitive game and nothing is at stake. If you treat it as if the experience revolves around you, focusing on what your teammates are doing wrong instead of doing your best to play alongside them you are unfit for a coop environment, or really playing with others in general, it's that simple.

Everyone's time is valuable and just because someone chooses to spend some of it on a "nonessential hobby" doesn't make it any less valuable.

Thanks for your understanding.
And like I said, it wastes their time too. I doubt they want to sit around at 3 downs watching the fight
I'd take a worse player who was late to a few fights over a skilled player who always goes off alone to do something we are going to go to as a team after anyways. Or the try hard teammate whos pings are the only thing they will do and there is no exceptions even if it means going alone or not using the birds efficiently. Helping new players is a part of the fun.
