Winning the solo mission
Ok, I have all the achievements now :)
Has anyone found a way of "winning" the solo mission? Grace and I just get killed by Dr. John.

I don't think there's any way to get out of the standoff if you didn't take
Mosley
- which is why the game reminds you everytime you step out of the elevator into the hounfour before placing the key and signal device in the confessional. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Ah, I can't figure anything out. You are right I think. I hoped that there was a hidden way to win without help.

You're correct. In the original once the elevator went down you couldn't call it back up. So you were essentially stuck in a no-win situation, forcing you to either re-load a previous save or start again from Day 1.

Just to be clear, players, there's no "win" to the solo path. There is an achievement, but if you want the ending, you need to go back and make sure Mosely's with you. We've made it so that you can do both in one playthrough by continuing after solo fail. ;)

I smashed my head into the ending of this game for several and several hours. I just didn't think it would be impossible to beat the game without Mosely.

Also what I did miss was to put the snake rod in the same place with the tracking device. I think this was very illogical, since how can Mosely get down anyway if the rod is in the elevator - which by the way is then down and should be inaccessible from above without the rod anyway?

I noticed Gabe wondering about if everything has been done but at the same time the journal suggested that Mosely should find his way down. I just though it was within the plot that dumb Mosely didn't come with Gabe. :(

Not very happy about the ending area, also one of the final puzzles , the drum code was really crazy but I figured it out with pure luck and logical thinking, but if you would have to make guesses, you'd run out of patience or years. I thought since there is the possibility you'd have to enter fours codes, but you only need two. You could have thought about sending DJ to swamp or anything. Sometimes I just should think that this is only a game and I'm not inspecting the mystery behind Mona Lisa's smile..:P

The elevator descends automatically. So when mosely follows the tracking device he finds the rod and waiting for him.

you can't back out from a solo fail. when you reload you are put right before entering grace's room which makes it impossible to go back and do the not solo run if you didn't save.
