How To Work Catapults?

They seem to do their own thing. I can't aim or anything. Just fire. Watch the jars fly 10 miles in the wrong direction and height from the approaching tower.

The onagers/mangonel. have two positions. If you want to fire them, you should stand at the "base" of it, slightly to the left. When you look down at it you will get the USE option.

If you stand to either side you will only be able to rotate the unit, not fire it.



Once you are controlling it, there will be a distance "meter" on the left. It is the red portion of the onager in the below picture.

The WASD keys are your keyboard controls. The thick black bar (middle of red area) will slide up or down to indicate distance.

W and S change the distance with W being further and S being shorter. A and D control the left/right movement.

Lack of targeting crosshair makes them useless to player. Theoretically, you can aim them, but in practice it takes too much effort to do so. Leave it to AI until mods fix this.

I have no problem aiming them after 1 or 2 ranging shots. shrugs

Just as you pressed F to use one, you press F to leave one.
