Wife dies even with death disabled?
I just noticed that the wife is nowhere to be found, and her picture is greyed out in encyklopedia. Death is disabled in Campaign options. People can still die of some reasons even with this setting? Also, I didn't seem to get her equipment back into my inventory.

So does this mean my character can also die of some reason?

Your wife likely died in childbirth. Happened to mine. I also hear you can still die of old age even with death turned off, but im really not sure since I havent tested it myself.

Yeah I don't recall receiving notification on her death, but the last unread thing on the right side of the screen is indeed " has given birt to xy", the wife's name is omissed.

It still bugs me that her equipment gets lost when this happens. I wouldn't necessarily mind the gold worth at this point, but there are lots of high end gear that can't be bought when lost.

Mine died in Child Birth too but I had just saved the game so shes still with us!

I did notice a banner across the top of the screen saying she snuffed it.

Does that mean if you are the wife your campaign can end that way?

I don't think I can remarry, I spoke to several female nobles since, but I don't get that conversation option. It's a bummer though, I'd liked to be able to further expand the family. I have like 20 kids now, and with a mod pretty much all of them can be brought to battle from toddler to teenager.

You can't, unless it's another infamous bug. My character's spouse died during childbirth and no other suitable candidate even offers the dialogue anymore.

Either remarrying is forbidden, or I saw someone mention in a post that the character can't marry after 35.

Just save the game and reload it and she will be there. It happens to me so I just load my save again.

Death option only makes sure your heroes dont die on the battlefield when they fall in battle, but even that is bugged and they wont die even with the option enabled

I heard someone say Medicine can help lower childbirth death chance, but i dont know if that's a myth or just a really low modifier.

That's female characters; male characters are capped at 40

Sometimes it's difficult for people to come to terms with the passing of a loved one. I am sorry for your loss. People try to rationalise and shock sometimes stops people even realising their loved one is gone. "The wife is nowhere to be found". She's gone, ser.

You can't fight the rules, you can't argue with the system. You can change some rules, but ultimately, fate decides who lives and who dies.

What was your wives' culture? Some cultures would bury the deceased with their equipment and possessions. This may be why you can't locate her inventory.

At least mine died after popping out my sixth kid. Grieved for a second, then conquered a few cities. In the end, we had a good run.
