please somebody help me with this hearts of iron III doesn't start i have al the DLC's and please don't send me to paradox interactive forums

Same issue I have, and no one has been able to offer me a fix, even on the Paradox forums. I am starting to think that the best bet may be to call Paradox

Register your game in the Paradox website and check this thread:

Check the answer #12 by user podcat. Download the new hoi3_tfh.exe file that he posted and you must replace the old hoi3_tfh.exe by the new one.

My crash problems were solved doing this. I hope it work for you too guys.

1) Uninstall ALL Visual c++ (2005/2008/2010) redistributables. CAREFUL, this might have the affect of causing other games to function incorrectly, or not at all even after finishing all the steps here. I take no responsibility for anything that might break if you do this and aren't capable of fixing it yourself.

2) Uninstall Hearts of Iron III.

3) Restart computer.

4) Reinstall Visual c++ 2010 SP1(x64) - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en....aspx?id=13523 - then install Visual c++ 2010 (x86) - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=5555 - . Yes, the x86 version is necessary.

5) Reinstall Hearts of Iron III.

6) Install the new hoi3_tfh.exe

It's a long, frustrating process, but it does eventually pay off. Hearts of Iron III is a genuinely great, deep strategy game. All this ♥♥♥♥♥ worked for me, i dont know more solutions, best regards

Yes i think that for TFH the Semper Fi and FTM is necessary.

Can you copy and paste? For some reason it's not letting my account access that page. I have all the dlc and the game registered on the Paradox forums and know how it works. I've been playing their games since HoI 1 :O Odd that it won't let me access that link though...

Guys I have a solution for the "hoi3tfh.exe doesnt work any more" problem. ;-)
I am searching for 4 hours so far and i GOT IT ! ;-D
When the game is crashing even before it starts (press start in the launcher and .. crash).
You need some special audio-codecs which the game is using.

First the 32bit version, the 64bit version after. both have a size of 20-22mb.

But take care ! The installer is trying to install some "extra" programs. ;-)
Like a new search-bar for your browser or other silly stuff (smiles for chat programs for example).

At least you can look at the Paradox Int. forum. There is a thread where are all solutions for every problem (game crasehs).

When you start a new game and later save and quit you can download new packs/updates/DLCs as expected. But you did it after this recently saved game naturally. Bacause you want to keep your game up to date and use new developments. In this case you shouldn't continue old saved game(s) because they will stop working. If you check save game folder (under the Documents) after new updates/packs/DLCs you can't see old saved files are belong to game before your last updates/DLCs ect. (in fact they are in the steam folder instead of the folder in the Documents. You can delete them because they are not working) Start a new game after your last updates. Now you can continue and save and continue again your new campaigns safely. If you install new DLCs/packs ect. you can see similar problems in the future. So finish your campaigns before updates/DLCs. It was end of my problem luckily but i am not sure if you have same problems. I hope my terrible english was enough to explain it.. Sorry.
