The Talos Principle Build 424910 is Live With Tobii Eye Tracking and DX12 Support!
Hey everyone!

It's a happy day today, as The Talos Principle is getting the long-awaited engine upgrade we've been talking about ever since we launched Serious Sam Fusion. This update is very similar to the one we pushed to open beta a few weeks ago, but also fixes most of the things that were reported during open beta.

The highlights of the update are Tobii Eye Tracking and DX12 support, as well as further Vulkan tweaks.

Tobii Eye Tracking

We have worked closely with our friends from Tobii to implement exciting eye tracking features like Jam at Gaze, Connect at Gaze and Pick up at Gaze. Those features allow you to be more efficient in your problem-solving adventures, while the Extended View feature and Clean UI improve your immersion in Talos' world of puzzles and philosophy.

To celebrate this launch Tobii is about to have a cool contest, so be sure to jump on their Twitter page, give them a follow and await further instructions.

Thanks for the announcement. Was wondering what the 6 gb update was all about.

The binary for macOS has disappeared. I guess that's not intentional, right?

Crashed after adding Ultra on CPU and Right-click. There was a very short spike to 59%
on the CPU (took less than 3 seconds from 3% and down to 3 again ), so nothing dramatic.

First I changed to Vulcan.

I went from Demo -> New Game and then Esc to change Multisample to max.
At the same time I raised CPU to Ultra.
I did not see the "Resume game", as that was not together with the other menu items,
but on my left screen, so I right-clicked a few times and the game froze with a blue
wheel that I could move with my mouse pointer. After Ctrl+Alt+Del, i got to desktop, and game was marked as "Not Responding".

Restarted game. Played for 5 minutes. Went back to GFX menu. Changed nothing, and got a Hang when I clicked on resume game. CPU usage during gaming 8-12 %. Got a spike similar to first time, going to 42% around the moment I got the Hang.

Cheers :)

Specs under INFO in my profile.

My game is broken after the update too, so I rolled back and had the same issue. Get the new version again and I am back at the new error (error occurred when validating license). I am literally on the last few puzzles of the game so I'm hoping this can be resolved soon.

EDIT: Have to go to work, if there isn't another thread started about the license validation error by end of day I will start one and include log files.

EDIT 2: After installing the 4GB update this morning, the game works, and my profile/progress is still there! Hope this works for anyone else who got the license validation error. Thanks to the devs for issuing this update.

Sorry, different practice for Codemasters.. :)

Where do I find the logs?

They are in your game installation folder. :)
Language problem seems fixed. But lasers are still too bright.

Vullan mode vsync doesn't work in fullscreen, or windowed modes. win 10 17763.379, nvidia gtx 1070 419.67.

But after a couple of restats it works. Strange. Definitely something wrong with it.

edit 2
Yep, alt-tabbing disables vsync in vulcan.

Thanks. Done :)

I'm investigating a stutter problem in another game that I suspect is related to when updates
are pushed and update notification appears in the Library. Is it possible to get the exact time
the 4.4GB update was released please? If you have it down to second it would be perfect,
but even within a couple of minutes would help a lot!!

Cheers :)
