Serious Sam 4

Serious Sam 4

Question for the Devs
How final is your Idea for the game, is there any chance of changes of those ideas? Will you be open to any Ideas From this forum? or is the game already too deep in production?

Fully understandable, Thank you for your time. Best of luck with the game, can't wait to see more!

Can I have ideas too? :D

Sure. But it's on us to decide if they are any good.

One more question. Why did you announce this game in such an early development state? Were you just tired of people asking for Sam 4 or is it a deeper marketing plan?
Danny [CT]  [developer] Jun 19 @ 7:15am
We announced it because we felt like it was time to do so. Also, it fit well with our 25th anniversary. :)

But most importantly, announcing it made us happy.

I meant it more as a joke, but alright. :) This is a combination of idea/question:
1. Are you planning to add Easter eggs from all of the doom shooters? That means DOOM, Painkiller, Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior and Bulletstorm? Something like in TTP. Especially one-liners would be great for this.
2. Are you planning to make world more dynamic? Skyboxes, day/night cycle, weather cycle, rivers, etc.
3. Are you planning to adapt SW2's approach to missions and side quests?
4. Are you planning to improve AA and AO?
5. Will you add (official) support for HDR?
6. Will you add mGPU support for both DX12 and Vulkan?

1 - we'll have tons of those, but it's still early to decide what they will be.
2 - we'll see what happens.
3 - as above.
4 - sure, we'll improve on everything on the tech side.
5 - yep.
6 - yep.
I think it would be Really neat if we found weapon upgrades in secret areas, upgrades that maybe adds alt fires to weapons that used to not have them. An example I have is a upgrade that adds a alt fire to the minigun that makes it fire much faster, but doing so might waste a lot of ammo by sheer overkill from the rate of fire. and would also add recoil to the gun and make sam move slower. I think these upgrades should by no means should be needed to beat the game, and should also come with down sides for using these alt fires.

Awesome! One more question: did Croteam play them? Are you even perhaps looking into them for an inspiration? I myself would love to see some of their gameplay mechanics reused in SS4.

Here's a random question:

Will Serious difficulty in Serious Sam 4 have double ammo like in the classics? I always felt this was an incentive to play it on the hardest difficulty, especially when considering that there are more enemy spawns and that Serious Sam 4 will pit the player against 100,000 enemies!

Don't know, really. But I'm pretty sure people have played most, if not all of them.
Personally, I've played all except Painkiller. However, I don't do any actual developing. Just give feedback where needed. :)

I can't say for sure but I'm pretty confident it will be in line with what works best before. We aren't changing the original formula all that much. Just expanding on it.

How many of you are working on the game?
Hey there. Will you remove iron sights and reloading in SS4? You can also increase the base movement speed and sprinting speed along with that as well. Alternatively, reloading is OK as long as it takes a second to do so.
