NO INFINITE LIVES PLEASE, WIMPS!!! (Who bothers to replay old SS games with infinite lives?!)

EDIT: Well I guess this sums it up. Serious Sam HD games all have 'finite' lives option. Not to be confused with 'infinite' and I hope this arrives with Serious Sam 4 as well. Likely it will. Yey! :)

I personally believe co-op should be like singleplayer, if a person dies - they stay permanently death, until everyone death. if everyone is dead, the map you're in restarts. Zero lives. Only once or you stay death. And that should be the standard on all the co-op modes, I don't believ ethere should be ANY option for more than 'once and you're permanently dead' IMO

All this Sven-Coop junk where ppl can respawn as much as they want needs to go, Its why the servers with limited lives are best. If Singleplayer punishing you for wasting ammo or dying, so should all of co-op IMO. Furthermore there should be no more infinite ammo option either. resource management or gtfo. Lives only worked in SS2 cos it was designed as a kids' game.

Ever since SS3, there have been a "Standard Coop" in the game that features finite lives. The mode that is infinite lives is "Classic Coop" mode.

It just happens that most people like to play Classic Coop with infinite lives.

Hi, please elaborate which versions of the game have this finite lives? And can you set one? It would be helpful to know which versions I can go to and only have 1 or a few lives at most.

I'm mostly looking for the ones that have only 1 life.

i still don't see the point of this thread... because you can also play those HD games on Fusion and both of them have that feature in coop mode(in fusion). but yes you are correct, i haven't read the whole thread which was my mistake.

actually, im always nice, but if i don't get a point of the thread, i sometimes express it. but tbh if that kind of mode isn't available in the HD remakes than it would be good if they added it. also since that kind of mode is available in BFE and Fusion, im pretty sure SS4 will also have it.

The point is that I played the original Serious Sam titles and they had infinite lives. I did also play SS3 but it was just an awful game that completely went off the rails of what I enjoyed about the other Serious Sam titles.

The point is that I want the game to have a hardcore setting where you die and you remain dead and have to start again, at least for each level anyway.

And any information about this is appreciated. I don't know about the feature being updated in any version of the game so I plea with them to make sure this arrives with an option to play with finite lives.

I would test out these versions myself, but the internet in our country is appalling so questions are better than hours of downloads only to be disappointed with the outcome.

I guess you don't see the point because you know of information that I do not. Not everyone has the same information in their brains.
