serious sam 3 was ass tho. this looks like its running on ss3 engine so not really expecting anything better

1. BFE was not ass. It was a game, and no less good than the original.
2. SS4 is powered by an upgraded The Talos Principle engine, which on its own was a heavily upgraded SS3 engine. Which was an upgraded SSHD engine, which was an upgraded SS2 engine. It's like a tower, you don't have to start all over again to build a new floor. Serious Engine is better than ever before, and it's only the start.
3. Engine doesn't necessarily have to do much with game's quality.
