WRC 5 - Found this on the interweb...thoughts?

Black Bean and Milestone had brought to the front of the stage WRC license. After 4 opus developed by the Italian studio is a shift that will be made in the franchise, now owned by BigBen Interactive. Thus, the Parisian studio Kylotonn Games which is in charge of WRC 5. These are several job vacancies posted by the studio which confirms the information. Social networks can be read here and there that Milestone is no longer in charge of development.

A new studio whose only game is racing ... Truck Racer, released in 2013 on behalf of BigBen Interactive. Note that Kylotonn Games has developed games such as bowls or Obut Hunter's Trophy again on behalf of BigBen Interactive. They are also responsible for The Cursed Crusade released in PC/PS3/Xbox on 360.

WRC 5 will not be released in 2014, the game will be released next year to coincide with the 2015 season of the World Rally Championship (WRC). The question is whether the game will be available at the beginning or end of the year. WRC 5 will only be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

I'm disappointed, I felt Milestone has been doing a good job and I really enjoy WRC 4.

I agree. Wow. Truck Racer looks horrible. I don't expect a lot of WRC 5 now. I know many people are disappointed in the lack of realism in the WRC games of milestone. But after looking at this I can tell: It will get a LOT worse.

I'm really enjoying WRC 4, though. WRC 4 for me is like Dirt 3 without the annoying parts and with way more rally driving. Sad to hear Milestone lost the license.

Milestone DESERVES to lose the license!!

All 4 of the WRC games they've released have been buggy as hell, and rather than support the game each year they just dropped it and moved on to the next year's bug infested iteration.

After seeing the new dev's work, I can't say that I believe they look like they're in a position to move the franchise forward in a positive way.

But they're hiring, right? Maybe they'll bring some programmers and designers onboard who have a lot of experience building racing games?

Ok, edit.
I loaded up WRC2 and played for a while yesterday. In retrospect, WRC2 was headed in the right direction, and it all went downhill from there.

When did the new publisher take over? Was Milestone pushed into creating a more accessible "DiRT"-like title?

Sure, the graphics were greatly improved upon in 3 and 4, but the stages were way shorter and the physics were made less realistic. Esp in 4.

So, maybe Milestone didn't "lose" the license, as much as they got fed up with a publisher pushing them to rush out game after game and losing sight of their original vision?

I am beyond pissed! I actually liked the career mode in wrc 4, if only there were more stages and the said stages were longer, it would be amazing! (also mixing up stages between seasons wouldn't hurt)

Only Codemasters or Bugbear can handle rally games these days :(

I agree Robert | CSP, although I think Codies tend to dumb down their racing games a bit. I have been playing Assetto Corsa and I think the handling is fantastic. Someone converted a stage from Richard Burns Rally into AC and it's fantastic. All we need is the RBR online/Modders to focus converting their stuff to AC and we'll have the Rally Sim we've been waiting for!

looks quite interesting, but the car seems to jump a lot, if they officially support rally stages Im sold for sure , thanks for the info
