Is the headset set as default sound device?

Does sound come out of your speakers?
have you tried turning it off and back on again

I have exactly the same problem. Since the Disasters DLC came out, all sound has vanished. My settings say it is turned on and is at max volume, and all my other games have sound as normal, but Cities Skylines is silent. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, verified the cache, but nothing works!

I'm facing the same problem as well. Reinstalled the game and updated audio drivers but no luck.

All my other games work fine. The audio just stopped with the new Disasters/Radio update.

All settings in Cities seem just fine. Haven't found a solution for this yet.

I had the same problem and for me the solution was to go to the audio settings of windows and switch the sample rate and bit depth of my audio device (double click on it, then on advanced) to 16 bit, 44.1kHz. Then after a restart I had sounds again.

Yes, I did this and it worked brilliantly, thanks for your help. Perhaps Colossal Order should look at incorporating support for a broader range of sound settings in a patch, it looks like several of us have experienced this issue.

This also worked for me. No need to restart my PC though. Doesn't make any sense why you should have to set your sound settings to lower quality. Thanks for the help, b.j.basler!

Are all of you using Razor audio products? I have had nothing but trouble with those since they released the first ones. I just uninstall the Razer app and all things work fine in most cases.

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Live audio card.

That sounds very, very old. Does your app work? Or are you using generic windows update drivers? That card has been around since XP and probably windows 98.

The drivers were updated in Sept. 2015. I bought the card in 2014. Running Windows 10. Everything has worked great so far. I got the Cities sound to come back on by turning down the audio to 44.1khz, but that seems like an odd workaround.

Sounds like a driver issue. The sound should auto-adjust to the proper setting for playback. I can see mine switching on my USB sound card.

Try uninstalling drivers and use windows update drivers. They are featureless drivers, but should work properly.

44.khz should be fine. That is the full range the human ear can listen to anyway.
Now the workaround of switching to 44.1 has stopped working! Argh! This is so frustrating!
