A little confused by the game

This game went from confusing to fun as I started grinding and finding out the tricks but I feel like the grind is way too high for the game. I am not swearing off of the game I just want to see a little change in the way that it is structured.

If I'm not playing the game incorrectly as is, it took me about 3 hours of time to find a route that was good for a 2 city surge of sales. Other cities don't really make sense to travel to unless they rotate offerings and needs and I just haven't noticed. I have 2 EPIC characters at level 12 and level 4 content goes somewhat smoothly. I just feel like going outside of this would be too high of a jump, and just scraping this same route to grind up gold is the main loop right now.

Maybe it's chance but I don't really see the gameplay as scaling, it's just the same thing over and over. Something that I'd like to see is a way to know that I've gotten stronger. Aside from the damage numbers in the battle screen, I'm just not feeling like my characters got stronger once I picked up my first and second EPIC.

I may also be out of my realm because I haven't ventured south or east, or tried to specifically complete quests, and they have just been a secondary action to stacking cash. Great game still for 3 bucks!

Hey.
For an open world game (and this game is, after all, an open world game), this kind of walking is a player choice. If exploration and quests aren't enough motivation for you, there's nothing I can do about it, I guess.

Where did you see a recommendation to play another game? I didn't edit the posts above, and there are no such recommendations there.
I may recommend playing another game, that's acceptable.
