Beta Patch V.1.0.6 Now Available (EDIT: No longer a beta)
=======================EDIT: Jun. 13th================================
Beta 1.0.6 is no longer beta, and therefore now an official patch which automatically gets downloaded provided you enabled automatic updates.

If you prefer to roll back to the 1.0.2 version, simply go to the 'BETAS' tab in the RE4HD properties menu within the Steam client (right-click on Resident Evil 4 / Biohazard 4), select 1.0.2 from the pull-down menu, and close. Wait for the game to synchronize and launch the game.

The only reason you may want to roll back to 1.0.2 is if you're experiencing performance issues with 1.0.6.

Compared to 1.0.2, patch 1.0.6 is slightly more processor-intensive due to the addition of positional audio and graphics effects such as the bloom effect on torches and oil lamps.

Hi everyone,

Capcom and QLOC is back with yet another beta with a host of fixes and feature additions.

As with prior betas, 1.0.6 is a roll-up release containing all previous updates from 1.0.3, 1.0.4, and 1.0.5. Click respective link above to see fixes and feature additions from prior betas.

As always, we'd like to keep this thread civil and focused on reporting new issues but it'd be also great to hear both positive and constructive feedback for the fixes that have been rolled into this update.

How to access Beta
  • From your Steam ‘LIBRARY’ list, right-click on Resident Evil 4 / Biohazard 4 and select 'Properties'
  • Select the ‘BETAS’ tab.
  • Type RE4BETAoptin (case-sensitive) in the 'Enter beta access code' field and then click CHECK CODE.
  • Now, select "beta-public – 1.0.6" from the pull-down menu and click CLOSE.
  • Wait for the Steam client to finish downloading the patch.
  • Launch Resident Evil 4 / Biohazard 4 and verify that 1.0.6 is visible on the bottom right section of the ‘Press any key’ title screen.

Change log
Fixes & Tweaks:
  • Re-tuned water reflection animation speed when played in 60fps mode
  • Removed static texture on burning candles in the church (Separate Ways/Another Order)
  • Re-tuned speed at which cannon shells are launched in Chapter 4 of Separate Ways/Another Order
  • Fixed one pixel-width vertical line that was uncovered on the left side of the screen in Credits and Options menu
  • Removed orange-ish post process screen effect when Leon and Ashley reenters the church after the Saddler cutscene.
  • Added back wake effect in 60fps mode after defeating Del Lago.

New Feature:
  • "Anisotropy" setting can now be saved when altered in the config.ini file. Valid settings are "0" "2" "4" "8" "16" without the quotation mark. Smaller value will result in blurrier textures, but this may help rendering performance for PCs that are at or below minimum specs.
  • Added a 4th color filter option in the graphics setting menu which slightly reduces the overall 'warm' color effect of the screen (Red and Green toned down on the RGB scale)

Once we see enough thumbs up with the fixes and tweaks (and not break anything else along the way!), the patch will be made public without password protection.

About Save Data...
Save data is compatible between public version and beta version.
While we do not anticipate the patch to introduce fatal bugs, we recommend backing up your save file just to be safe.

Save file is located in the following Steam installation directory:
(xxxxxxxx is a number unique to your Steam User ID)

IMPORTANT: Please provide the following information when posting in this thread.

B) Specific issue
Please share the specific issue and the area where you are experiencing the said behavior.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible This step in particular is super helpful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

Reproducible Crash
If you are experiencing crashes repeatedly in the same area (such as the swamp area), there is a chance that your anti-virus software may be deleting important game files. If so, please try the following steps in order to isolate the issue:
1) Disable or temporarily shut down the anti-virus software
2) Open Steam client, right-click on Resident Evil 4 from Library, and select Properties
3) Click Local Files tab and select 'Verify integrity of game cache..."
4) Once the verification process completes, launch the game and verify if the crash still occurs (make sure to keep the anti-virus software turned off during this test)

Please also check the following two Steam Support articles which covers crashes as it relates to anti-virus software and other 'hidden' Windows processes that may interfere with the game and/or Steam client.

wbacon, you have corrected this error only in the main menu. In the game there is a mistake!

Its just you. They didn't touched that. You may have upgraded the reload speed. Upgrading the reload speed makes it look ok. (Since the first version). Its when the rifle is new with no upgrades that the 30fps animations is really visible.

The 4th filter is exactly the same thing than Paku´s filter , the only significant change in this new beta was the animation of the water, which by the way is still loading the wrong textures.Well at least now we have slow jelly water effects istead of ultra fast jelly water.LOL

And I want to express my gratitude wbacon, for that listens to our advice. I believe that together we will make the game a perfect game. Thanks for your support. And yet ... I have already mentioned this, but in the settings menu buttons appear keyboard, although I use the Xbox 360. Yeah, it's a small thing, but I want the game to be as good as possible. Please fix it. :)

No fix for gamma and not added echo sounds, plus shaders with wrong coordinates? :(

I still has some issues that need to be fixed!!!

1) padlock sound is with the sound of picture together in this part.

C) Detailed reproduction steps:

1) Just play the chapter 4-1 until this part to reproduce this issue.

2) Happens with all armor monsters, all of them is with the double speed animation when die.

BTW: the white centipede las plagas, that spawns out of the heads of the cult guys on chapter 3. It is not 60 FPS. Neither is when they die and blow up.

I hope you guys fix those!

I never had the issue of slowdown when you throw a grenade, but now I do with this beta . I still hate the button mashing QTEs and how it doesn't seem to register inputs if you push too fast too. Other than that, this version is quite playable.

This game seems like its a nightmare to be working on, I feel for you... :\

I have a non-ti GTX 660, 16 GB of ram, and a i7-3770

Never had any slowdown with maxed settings and 16x of anti-aliasing set on NV control panel.

Based on this.. the problem with the game is.. the processor? people need an i7 to play the game on maxed settings? this is kinda ridiculous.

The mouse rifle scope aim after mouse wheel zoom-in/out changing original off-scope camera angle issue is still there. Why can't you save the angle value before scope aim and resume it after scope aimming?
