Future Patch Road Map (Updated August 2018)
I reckoned it was better to keep this here rather than spread all over. This is a 'live doc', and I refuse to be held accountable if things change. ;-)

Patch 17 goals
  • Internal Translation support for multiple languages, including Cyrillic/Kanji (Russian/Japanese/Chinese)
  • Orbital RailGun Launcher. The ultimate in pointless e-peen. Fire massive containers into space and compare your base with other people's. 1 Kilometre of magnetically-accelerated terror.[Patreon/Adventure Pack]
  • Further Mutator work.[Patreon/Adventure Pack]
  • T4 Balance improvments
  • New, country-specific skin pack to celebrate (and TBF, fund!) the Translation support.
  • Massive multiplayer optimisations

Patch 18 goals
  • Public translation support
  • Manual Plant Growth and Harvesting in Hydroponics Bays.
  • Room detection and support, including Airlocks/Doors.
  • Medbay first-pass.
  • Move to Unity 5.6.
  • Addition of Vulkan and DX12 support.
  • Complete revamp of hivemind placement and growth mechanics
  • Base Scanning for efficiency and growth
  • CryoMaps
  • Improved selection of lights and Tourcarts for Dapper owners
  • Investigate + Implement Room-based occlusion-culling
  • Massive overhaul of the entire T1-based crafting system, giving much more credence to assembly lines and automation.

Patch 19 goals
  • RoboMania mode implemented
  • Hardcore Crafting and Inventory working
  • Look at a separated thead for segment visibility. I'm out of clever mainthread tricks now.
  • Investigate Client-caching of world data (Investigated - not gonna happen)
  • Robots implemented to useful quality (Including SpiderCORs, and Robot Arms)
  • First-pass Cloning implemented.
  • Rooms implemented for Toxic, Cold and Surface behaviour (Filtered/Heated/Greenhouse),
  • Pass over T2/T3 progression
  • Orbital RailGun to 'usable'

Patch 20 goals
  • OSHA mode to final
  • Important CPH mode to final
  • Aggressive mobs to final
  • Lucrative mobs to final
  • Pass over Frozen Factory progression
  • Investigate ResinPocalypse as an alternate to Purchase or Ceilings.
  • Investigate moving Fluid Sim across to it own thread
  • Directional Storage Hoppers!
  • Missions now disable-able.

Patch 21 goals
(Est : 16th of July)
  • Playtest Sky Islands
  • Playtest Resinpocalypse
  • Happy Feet and Pandora's Boxes to final
  • Hardcore Crafting and Inventory to final
  • All-Ore mode to final
  • Orbital RailGun to final quality
  • Investigate move to Unity 2018, giving access to in-built dynamic resolution. (nope)
  • Constructocons to final
  • Final balance of T1 and T2 crafting, including changes to make Hardcore Crafting bearable.
  • Pass over FF balance, progression and machinery
  • RailGun to final

Patch 22 goals
  • Corner Conveyors
  • Advanced Teleporters
  • MK4 Turret
  • GPS
  • Wider Adventures Pack DLC testing
  • Penultimate pass at handbook and performance.

Patch 23 goals
  • Adventures Pack DLC released

Patch 24 goals
  • Post-release fixes to Adventure Pack DLC

Depending on how financials go, currently, Patch 23 is planned to be more-or-less the end of FortressCraft's development. As you all know, I love this game and would be happy to work on it forever and ever, but, sadly, I have things like rent and food and cats to worry about. I'd rather not stop; that means I've only implemented about 10% of the things I'd like in this game.

Woot, I'm glad to see a Future Roadmap and progression back :) Hope things are getting better with your recovery.

Yayy a road map, this is awesome thank you!

I'd like to take the opertunity here as we speak on the future to inquire if we'll see part of the origonal "game clear" goal; getting off the planet.

While there are lots of sub-set goals that make the game complete as is and extreamly enjoyable please don't get me wrong on that.

I'm still left quite curious around the subject as I recall this being one of those origonal goals/concepts for the game as a whole, something about getting off the planet and perhaps warning the other inhabited systems or such, before the rest of w/e blew up the station came around and slammed into the planet.
The speed of that approching thing modulated by a difficulty setting if i recall right.

Or was that idea scrapped for "making due with being alive and trying to keep it that way."? a solid goal to have, no doubt and again as I said the current segmented clear goals are still very soild and the overall game is still in its current state very enjoyable.

'Building a base in space' is still something I would totally love to do, just no idea if I'm going to be able to afford to do so. There's plenty of discussion of plans in the discord, and I highly recommend joining there.

When is the end of support for the game? like 100 patches? or will you continue to do it as long as people are still playing it?

Neither. I'll continue to support the game as long as I can afford to do so. Something I need to keep reminding people; whilst I super-love and totes-enjoy working on FC, I don't have time to do it for fun. If it doesn't make a profit, I need to work on something that does make a profit, or I won't be able to pay my rent.

Stay'n a live, make'n the best of that and carving out a "life" of sorts on this random planet we crash on is a very interesting continuation/goal in of itself.

Bases sound quite interesting I wonder what other Quality of Life like things could be included in that, or even something crazy like teraphorming the planet as an Optional path might be some'n.. though I guess that might also be really bad once more current planet inhabitents (Critters) are populating the world. XD

In the last year i saw you working on an alpha for a cool game where you build vehicles kinda like besiege and robocraft.
is it possible you could release it on steam early access or make a gameplay video? i like it a lot and i want to get it :D

i tought developper came back on this game after his injury but the 0 news or patch make me think he might have went on a new project after all

He was already working on 2 other games before his injury, so he has a lot on his plate

i was refering to the one where you build a vehicle and drive over landscapes to get to the next puzzle, but ok
