WHY IS TRANSLATION SUPPORT TAKING SO LONG?
Well, firstly, it's a lot of work.

Second, it's boring. Really boring. Would-rather-stare-at-the-wall levels of boring. Finding the motivation to put in weeks and months of work into complete and total tedium is a difficult proposition.

Thirdly, I broke my arm, and am still going through a lot of pain and physio. Today is my first proper day in front of a normal keyboard and a mouse in well over 2 months.

But back to point one - here's the contents of a SINGLE language-related commit to the Source control. I've had to stick it on pastebin, as I'd need to split it into about 8 different posts on Steam.

And how many languages are you translating?

ALL OF THEM.

Well, just the ones Steam supports. The hard part is the first language. After that's, adding 1 language or 50 isn't hard at all.

Don't know if it helps much Arcus, but think of it this way, the more people keep complaining about it taking so long, the more people you know still want to play your awesome game. Keep it up!

I'm curious if we should switch to the translation branch now because there seems to be fixes there that the rest of us wouldn't get otherwise. I'm just concerned it will break the mods I have installed.

Reports so far indicate the new UI update breaks several mods. If you want to upgrade to test it I'd recommend backing up your world first.

wow that is a wall how much copy pasting you have to do for that.

I'd rather see you working on that dedicated server instead of doing boring and questionable usefull translations. It's not that the game is in any wierd language like sanskrit... it's in english and i think most of the ppl can somehow understand it.

Thats my opinion to. Translation is not important. Dedicated Server is very important if you like to have more players!

There's already dedicated servers... and they work fine. Not sure what work you are referring to for them. Zebra has been running a private and public server for people now for months.

Sure, if you have the hardware, you can run one your self. But the Public Server Hoster are actually waiting for an update to start hosting!!

What hosters? iirc Dj had a few in mind but they werent realy amused by the fact that he wanted licens fees. Also, with a root server at hand you can host servesr.
Having a dedicated machine in my house was just an option i wanted to test and show that the game can be hosted without great issues. it turned to a longitme project after a while with a handfull of players who come back. i would ask for more but more cant my system and inet connection handle :P

It will. Mod authors are aware of this. The NGUI changes are pretty hardcore, and the idiot who runs NGUI decided to rename a ♥♥♥♥♥on of functions and variables.
