Scuttle Town is nauseating.
I can barely look at the screen with the homeworld looking like this. I wish there was an option to turn it off, or an option to at least make the game not be fullscreen. If it was smaller, I could deal with it easier, maybe.

It looks fancy, and it probably took a lot of work, but it's... painful.

Press Alt+Enter if you want to switch from fullscreen to window mode.

Yeah, the movement of the screen makes it visually seem like you're spinning in your chair, but you're not moving so the brain receives contradicting sensory input.

Makes you feel sick almost instantly.

Workaround is to switch to windowed mode, or only move a short distance at a time to lessen the effect.

Doesn't make me sick but it's definitely weird.

Though hard on the eyes, for what it's worth it feels like a callback to the town layouts of the original GBC game.

This is a lifesaver for all future games I will play, but sadly did not help make it easy on the eyes.

As cool as it is, I find it hard to look at, and that makes it very unpleasant.

Indeed. I don't feel motion sick, but there's definitely a strange feeling when the screen is scrolling like that.

I agree with this. The effect doesn't look good and it's also kind of unnecessary. I think they should have the background as just the typical 2D side-to-side affair.

(From above link) "If you look closely, you might notice that every vantage point from past games is faithfully represented!"

Oh that's pretty awesome. I never noticed until now

Glad to hear I'm not alone. At first I thought it was my imagination that I was experiencing a "fishbowl" effect. Like several other posters, I wasn't feeling sick but the stationary-rotating sensation is downright bizarre.

It's pretty cool, but... I am careful to look away whenever I get to the town, which makes the cool detail lost on me.

I will suggest you keep a trash can with a liner in it nearby if you feel nauseated. You should watch what you are eating.

I never felt nausea, or more appropriately lightheaded or dizzy when in Scuttle Town. The only game to date that has resulted in lightheadness, dizziness, or vertigo was the first time I played Portal.

I have found that many people confuse the symptoms involving dizziness or lightheaded with nausea. Nausea involves your stomach feels like it wants to vomit. I never felt any stomach problems while sitting in my chair and playing games.

Everybody has a different response to conflicting sensory input.

For example, some people can use virtual reality headsets with no discomfort, while others simply can't using for more than ten minutes without getting very sick.

For those of us with more sensitive senses (boy, did that sound redundant), the visual indication of spinning, without the accompanying physical sensations, is quite jarring and does make us feel like we want to vomit.
