My Opinion on the Rescue: Everyday Heroes
Short answer is at the bottom for those looking for a quick opinion.

Long answer
To start off I was drawn to this game because its someone trying to give Emergency some competition. The graphics of the game are nice, similar to those of Emergency 2012. However, the gameplay could do with some patch work. I'm ok with a decent bit of micro managing but this game is a bit extreme.

The main cons is micro management system. The heavy micro managing works well with the early missions with small contained fires and close proximity patients, but when it comes to the final missions the final one in particular it becomes a hassle, if your fire battalion doesnt consist of all engines consisting of deck guns.

I say that due to it becomes easily overwhelming tell each and every firefighter to set his hose to the engine then get a hose to fight with, then to fight the fire for such a large growing fire. then there is the medical aspect of the mission along side the fire there is people on the ground and people inside the vehicles and a couple of those vehicles are in the fire.

My main concern as you can tell is micro management. Emergency I will say did start like this. However, over time they have evolved to make their game more fun yet challenging. They took out common sense micro management by making the fire fighters preconnect their hoses, the medics help nearby patients when idle, and fire crews if they have the equipment in hand start engaging the fire.

If the management system is fixed I could see this game competing as the american variant of emergency. With the management fixed more complex and interesting missions could be manageable

As for pros I personally LOVE the station management, however there seems to not be really punishing since you can really run calls on skeleton crews. So saving up intense amounts of money would be simple. I also like that the equipment can run out of water. My main pro is that depending on the type of extinguishing agent used can make the fire go out faster, that is a great realistic feature that even emergency hasnt touched.

In short, Not a game for those who hate intensive amounts of micro management. Has a fun management sim in the fire house since crew members interact. Its not emergency but has an active developer willing to change the game for the better. Those willing to give it a chance the price is ok, but those not sure on the game its not worth $20 wait till a sale, and in the mean time try emergency 3 or 4.

Great game, keep up the good work and you can challenge emergency. :D:

I agree - telling your crew to do every single little action gets very tedious. The first arsonist mission was it for me.

NO MORE MICROMANAGING THEN THE GAME WILL BE GREAT.

well not to that extreme...some micro management is ok but the amount that its currently at is too much..or atleast for one person*hinting towards multiplayer cooperative control of incident*

And only 4 max units out in freeplay?
Snakeybob Jan 9, 2014 @ 4:03pm
yeah...that I can see that as being an issue too..but the problem is, the more units you have out with the current way you have to micromange it would get out of hand, but i do agree 4 units is a low number when emergency you can have as many as you can afford with the mission budget. And emergency also rewards you for using less units but sometimes you have to call more in.:D:
