With that said, do you bring good tidings and joy with you? ;) (If not, that's ok. Can't blame me for being curious, can you?)
Well like I mentioned above it should be coming by the end of Q1 so we should be seeing the SteamOS and OSX versions coming out very soon :)

Excellent news :D

Sorry, I misspoke -- we're targeting Q2. Apologies for the mistake

It's alright. I realize the code for the network was hairy from what was stated earlier. If it needs more time, it needs more time. I appreciate that you want to make sure the port is of good quality at least.

Whaaaat, are your kidding me :S
Figured Q1 was a misestimate. :tdealwithit:
I predict a simultaneous release with Project CARS.
Can we get any kind of information about the status of the port? Is it playable yet? Does it even run? Is there a beta that we could get access to? Q2 effectively means six months after the previous date was missed what's the delay?

Sorry for the frustration but I've had this game sitting in my library since I got my Steam Controller last Summer and I haven't gotten to play it at all.
Still waiting to buy. This is one game I'm looking forward to on Linux.
Come on! make it happen before the Easter Break.

I am truly thankful for your update on the game release date.
However I am equally sad about it.

Due to the constant delay, I want to share my story.
I ordered the steam controller on the day of its preorder opening. Some time later, I saw that the controller was bundled with rocket league. I was surprised and confused. I thought I wasn't eligible as I preordered to early... I managed to get along with the situation on the same day (my reasonig was: "I ONLY signed up for the steam controller preorder. Nothing else. So I should be content. I will get my controller and that is what I am looking for.").
Then, on the 28 August I got the game in my library. I obviously was very happy about this situation (more value for no extra cost), as I planed to buy the game with the Linux Release.
Time passed by and when it initially failed its release date of 10 November I was okay with it, as the developer mentioned "it will be released by the end of the year".
However, the years came close to the end. By that time I've already told my friends (that bought the game in the wintersale) "I'll be able to play before the end of the year, that's what they promissed".
And you know how society works. There are "calm" people and people who like to "poke" fun at others. I've got told "How about you get a real operating system" (in a mean way)...
He ignores the reasons/facts that Windows in just not offering what I need of a operating system (I guess he was disappointed that he can't play with me). And I wasn't able to install windows in parallel, due to my hard disk beeing close to full and the steam sale draining my money (-> unable to buy a new hard disk).

So by mid January, University study continued. I was unable to play many games, and I had some from the sale anyway. Thats why the next missed release date of "before the XBox One version" did not hit me that hard and the next release date was in sight "6 to 8 weeks"... that's exactly when I will have my holiday! Great!
Now some exams of that semester passed. The "6 to 8 weeks" release will also be missed.
I'll have to study when the game will be released...
I inveted my friends to come to my place to play local multiplayer games. Like we used when we were children. I guess we won't be able to play rocket league.

While I did not pay extra money for this game, I do have emotions tied to every missed release.
This must be particularly galling for people who bought Steam hardware (especially Steam machines) with the promise of it being bundled.

Q2 of this year or any?
I guess multiplayer will already be half-dead when this game finally will be ported. I was planning to buy RL, but most likely I'll just pass now.
