Hello, is there any little chance for added Linux as supported system in future? :-)

Be nice. Really, they might have it better than Linux, but they do still get the short end of the stick a lot. They're just as anxious as we are about having a version that runs on our platform of choice.

Now, once they have a version, you're free to say it's off topic (because then they'll already have a compatible version), but right now, we're in the same boat. Shoving them off won't get us where we want to go faster.

But they do have the choice to launch a Linux distro on the fly via USB, we kinda do not have that feature 'legally' with Windows or Mac. I'm seeing $90.90 for Windows 10 on Amazon right now.
Not to mention you actually need to install Windows to use that, wheras Linux can just run straight off the USB stick, no need to install it to your harddrive to use.
As that may be the case, we're not going to win the hearts and minds of the masses stooping to the level of "get Linux or get out". We would be no better than all the Windows fanboys who tell us that if it's written for Windows, we should just get Windows.
In that case, you are right yes.

Both Mac and Linux are fashioned after Unix (at least in some way). I don't think it too far fetched that they ask in Linux threads. Plus, they've largely gotten ignored on games such as ourselves. They've seen a bit more love than we have, but not by much. (Plus, if they make one, the other isn't far behind. I've heard that making a Mac port generally completes 90% of the work of making a Linux port.)

They are both *nix systems and OSX is actually a fork of BSD.
Also the releases are for late Q1 which is coming up soon

I am aware of this. And although scheduled for release late Q1, delays do happen.

And if it does happen again, I'll continue to wait patiently. Until the developer says it isn't happening at all, I will remain hopeful. ^.^

That may be so, but they are still similar systems. They behave similarly (outwardly at least) and have similar directory structures.

It should also be stated that your first link said, "Maddog suggests we say instead that “Unix is a
Linux-like operating system". Also, here's this nugget: "Linux is not Unix, but borrows heavily from the design principles of Unix and emulates Unix interfaces,
most often more accurately to spec than any commercial true-Unix."

Precisely what the *nix means. Unix like, but not Unix

Glad I'm not the only one who read that from the articles linked.

With that said, do you bring good tidings and joy with you? ;) (If not, that's ok. Can't blame me for being curious, can you?)

Well like I mentioned above it should be coming by the end of Q1 so we should be seeing the SteamOS and OSX versions coming out very soon :)

Good deal. Works for me. I'll let my friends know. Thank you as well for the update.
