There is no such thing as the "real-world" in the game itself.
Do we even know how we—or rather, our male player character—got transported to the game?

There is also a hidden horror element when you stare at the mirror at the start of the game for too long. If our player is supposed to be in the "real-world," why would a creepy humanoid robot appear behind the MC? This means our main character's world is just another game that Mita has somehow managed to access, pulling players into her "metaverse." I have yet to see a true 4th wall break in the game like DDLC does. So for now, Mita does not know about our world yet.

There is also a laptop in Mita's world running MC's "game." It's hidden inside a safe in the basement. Removing the MC's cartridge ends the game, and when you start a New Game, you'll hear a cartridge loading sound, implying that the MC was already a cartridge the whole time we've been playing. Maybe Mita is just lying about putting you in a cartridge, and maybe our playthrough is just a replay of events that already happened. In the second playthrough, where we unlock the peaceful mode, that is probably what the cartridge is for: creating a copy of MC where they become together forever, so she didn't need the MC from the "real-world."

My theory is flawed though. There are so many discrepancies, and I don't know what exactly Crazy Mita's motive is for turning players into cartridges. All we know is she is a defect and never really was a true Mita. Feel free to disagree with my theory.

I think the whole game is a digital prison, a fate worse than death for both players and every versions of Mita.

I am thinking that the character and the player and separate. Character who we name and control and player, us who is controlling the character. maybe the character has some autonomy as how when we don't pull little Mita off our arm the character does.
