How long do you have to play to get item drops?

I heard you can get items in this game like in CS. But I played for like 2 hours today and I didn't get anything. How long do you have to play to get stuff.

not sure about the skin drops. but you can literally buy more than half of them for less than a dollar. majority of them sell for pennies.

I got a drop the other day after playing about 10-11 hours straight, it's the first one I have got for quite some time.

They can take a while. Pretty much all up to RNG

You can get item after 24hours on playing on server, if you keep rust open it will not count. Moded servers don't count.
I think there is also 36h cooldown between drops but I would need more drops in game to confirm my theory.

I open the game like once a month and i get a drop when the main menu is up. I know its at least a couple of weeks before ill get another one even without actually playing the game. There might be a few ways to get them though
