Vac ban years ago - can I return even to modded servers?
Hello there,
I've been vac banned like 10 years ago for gamma adjuster (steam associated it with 3rd party tool). I wanted to return to rust after all these years but as I went through the servers, I cannot join any.

So the only option would be me to move to new account or there is a way to play again?

Cheers

Simple, play games as intended, stop trying to give yourself an unfair advantage.

bans are for life thats why they say permanent. You can play on non-EAC servers with the other banned cheaters. Good luck with that.

Ignore the trolls, I've also been VAC banned like 15 years ago but can play the game just fine. Not sure why you can't play. Did you try playing on community or modded servers?

VAC bans only prohibit playing on certain Rust servers for 180 days then you can play. Rust does not use VAC as its anti-cheat it uses EAC. EAC bans are permanent.

So I installed Rust and night was dark as native people from south continent so I installed gamma adjuster to increase the monitor gamma (was easier than changing the setup of the monitor each time). I got VAC ban for this. Wrote to support back then and they informed me it was legit.

As per VAC FAQ
"VAC stands for Valve Anti-Cheat, an automated system designed to detect cheats installed on users' computers. If a user connects to a VAC-Secured server from a computer with identifiable cheats installed, the VAC system will ban the user from playing that game on VAC-Secured servers in the future.

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modifications to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

While server admins may choose to ban specific players, server admins cannot VAC ban players.

The following will not trigger a VAC ban:
System hardware configurations.
Updated system drivers, such as video card drivers."
which means this was not a cheat.

Some servers will allow vac bans that are somewhat in the past. Like a year.

Had you simply played the game and accepted night time like every other player, we wouldnt be having this discussion, would we?

Rust is a survival game. Part of that survival is night time. Yes, its dark. Thats not on accident, thats not something you need to fix. The funniest part is they adjusted the game for less darkness, but you couldnt wait for that, you had to manipulate the game on your own.

Theres not much thought that needs go to into this. You couldnt accept the game and had to install 3rd party software to get a competitive advantage that shouldnt exist and you got banned for it.

Next post....this one is boring.........
