Rust
how to load rust server faster.
It takes 4 hours for my game to load the servers, is there away to make the load time faster without buying ssd? I use Nivida geforce GTX 1650

Honestly I'm wondering the same. I bought Rust two days ago, I was gonna play it for the first time with friends last night. Spent the whole gaming session (about 2.5 hours) in the loading screen. Had to give up and go to bed at that point. So I have yet to actually play the game

Yeah Same thing happen to me, my friends told me to just ask for a refund but because the load time took 4 hours i wasn't eligible for one, but i still want to play with my friends.

Yeah, my friends told me the same thing. but I really want to play it, Ive had it on my wishlist forever but never had anyone to play with until now, so Im not ready to give up, but now Im not sure. I tried loading in to a server just now but I couldnt even get to the loading screen becuase an error came up saying that my integrety was invalid or something. I dont even know what that means
it's your ram, not SSD. I didn't play with an SSD for awhile, and loaded in within a few mins. what's your ram

i have 8 but 1.1 is dedicated to memory and 0.1 to shared memory on my task manager.

you'd want at least 16gb, ddr4. This game runs horribly with low amounts of RAM. And it is more CPU than GPU dependent.

I'm not some computer scientist by a long shot, but 8gb ram is fine on small map. I have been in this situation before and would say it is a HDD problem, more than likely your HDD are failing anyway and i would just upgrade to SSDs

You need 16gigs of fast RAM for most maps and 32 would be better for big servers with lots of players and bases. An SSD or nvme would also help with loading into the game and while you play.

You can ask for a refund even if you have more than 2hrs of play time. Just explain the issue. Steam gives refunds after 2hrs if you have a good reason.

I also use an external storage to store my games, does that effect how my game loads. i only have like 18 gb of same on my pc versus 8 tgb on my external drive

Play on smaller maps with less players.

But really look into getting more RAM and an SSD. If you only get an SSD then you should configure your Windows to use the SSD for virtual memory, or install Windows onto your SSD (recommended).
