Mac and Linux Betas UP!

Hi All,

We have activated the Mac and Linux betas today. We should not yet be searchable as Mac or Linux titles on the store. We want a bit of time with a few people testing before we unveil that.

We tested Linux on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (SteamOS should also work)
We tested Max on: OSX 10.8.5

These should be considered the minimum supported OS requirements.
Hardware requirements should be similar to the PC ones.
We are only providing 64 bit builds for Mac and Linux.

We have set up forums for both Mac and Linux and we hope to see you there. Please post any bugs or tech support issues in the correct forums so we can track them per Operating system.

Also, we would love it if you post your system specs and let us know what OS you are using in the Mac and Linux forums.

This is day 1 of the beta test, so please be gentle. We will fix things as quickly as we can, but we are new to both Mac and Linux. These builds have both been tested on a grand total of 1 machine each.

Edit: Now on day 5 of the beta so have marked the versions live on the store page. So far so good :) (October 3, 2017)

Note: The Betas are in the default branch, so they should just work for you on those machines without having to opt into any beta with a password.

After the developers most recent post in their recent announcements which let me know they were actually actively working on the Linux port now, and because of the sale, I went out on a limb and bought a copy before I could install it.

Now, I get to install it!

I have a Fedora 26 system running on a month old Dell Precision 5520 with an NVidia M series quadro card. I think Quadro M2200. I've got 32GiB of RAM and a very recent Intel quad-core CPU (8 hyperthreads) that goes up to 3.9GHz. :-) It's definitely a beefy enough system. But it's not one of the recommended distributions. I run Borderlands 2 on it just fine, as well as Saints Row IV and XCOM 2. So, it should be good, I hope. :-)

Yep, so far it worked great. It would've clearly been slow if I had left the resolution at 3840x2160, but I dropped it to 1920x1080 and things have been smooth as silk. I turned of anti-aliasing and sun-shafts. And lowered a couple of other things before I found the resolution setting, so I should try turning those back on/back up and see how it works.

Yes, you need to own. We've simply extended the platforms the game is available on. We're calling the Linux and Mac beta because this is our first build for those platforms.

Yes, this is not a free beta, and it is the full game. We should be able to figure out if there are any issues within a couple of weeks if you don't want to risk it.
