So,I was bored and decided to google and see if Valdis was an actual name or if it's fictional,where was it first used.

And what do you know?It is an actual name,which literally means "death goddess"(according to the first link google gave me).

Now,excuse my french,but who the ♥♥♥♥ would name their daughter that???

This game takes heavy inspiration from Irish(?) folklore(looked it up once to lazy to do so again XD) as for someone actually naming their kid Valdis, people hate their kids. That's the only assumption I can make when you see parents actually try to name their kids ♥♥♥♥ like that. A Japanese family tried to name their kid akuma or demon. Then parents making horrible puns out of names like Robyn Banks(yes someone is actually named this) or that musician who named his kids terribly and one of them is named moon unit .
