Given the number of skill checks, does the game have the option or do you start fro zero in everything each time a new game is started?

actually, new game+ sounds like it would be an interesting addition, to some degree. ( Hope you see this Hanako! )

Someone's made a mod for that, but it will definitely never be an official feature. What would be the incentive to learn the clever ways to, say, Lumen up in the fastest possible amount of time if you got your skills handed to you? :)

There's a modding subforum here - http://hanakoforum.nfshost.com/community/viewforum.php?f=14 - but it's at-your-own-risk since I'm not involved in whatever they're doing in there.

You can also just cheat your stats up to whatever you want at the start of the game, if you so prefer.
